Farm plant stillage Trailer CAD Design
NZD 250–750
About the project
I have a clear set of specifications for a plant stillage transporter that must run smoothly across farmland while protecting both produce and equipment. The unit relies on a Soft-Ride hydraulic accumulator suspension paired with a ram-controlled lowering system, so the design needs to keep vibrations to a minimum and give operators precise control when setting down or picking up each bin. Key dimensions are fixed: a 2400 mm length × 1500 mm width fork load area within an overall width of 2100 mm, riding on 13″ five-stud wheels shielded by rolled-steel mudguards. An adjustable drawbar must accept either a 50 mm coupling, and the forks themselves may have to tilt to suit varied tractor heights. Bin guides have to funnel two 500 kg wooden or metal stillage into place quickly. Because the transporter’s primary role is moving stillages across uneven orchard ground, I need the suspension, wheel protection, and overall load-handling strategy modelled and validated. Practical manufacturability is essential—steel profiles, weld symbols, hydraulic hose routing, grease points, and bolt grades all have to be called out so my fabricator can build from the drawings with no guesswork. Deliverables I expect: • 3D CAD model (SolidWorks, Inventor, or compatible STEP) with the full suspension assembly, fork frame, drawbar, and mudguards • Detailed manufacturing drawings and a bill of materials, including hydraulic components and fasteners • Basic FEA or hand calculations that confirm the 1 000 kg working load on rough terrain • A hydraulic schematic showing accumulator sizing and flow-control strategy for the ram-actuated lowering system • Cut lists extracted from CAD designs for manufacturing purposes I will provide feedback at each stage—concept layout, detailed model, and final drawings—so there are no surprises when this goes to the shop floor. If you have hands-on experience designing farm equipment or trailers that haul delicate produce, I’d like to see examples with your proposal.
