About the project
About the Project: We are an engineering/design studio looking for a reliable, freelance Expert Rhino 3D Modeler for recurring, on-demand projects. Currently, we receive raw STL files that focus purely on aesthetic design. These meshes are technically impossible to manufacture. Your core mission will be to take these STLs, analyze them, modify the surfaces to make them manufacturable, and convert them into high-quality Solid/Surface bodies (IGES/STEP) so we can later work with them in CATIA or SOLIDWORKS. Key Responsibilities: Convert complex STL mesh data into clean, production-ready NURBS surfaces using Rhinoceros. Perform Draft Analysis (desmoldeos) to ensure all parts can be extracted from a mold. Modify, fix, and optimize surfaces, adding appropriate draft angles, radii, and splitting lines where necessary. Deliver watertight CAD files (STEP/IGES) with perfect continuity (G1/G2). Required Skills & Experience: Rhinoceros 3D (Advanced/Expert Level): Mastery of surface creation from meshes (Reverse Engineering workflows). Mold & Tooling Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing constraints, specifically for Fiberglass (GFRP) and Carbon Fiber (CFRP) lamination and demolding processes. CAD Compatibility: Understanding of how surfaces behave when imported into parametric software like CATIA or SolidWorks. Ability to work on a project-by-project basis with tight deadlines. How to Apply: Please provide a brief description of your experience with reverse engineering (Mesh to NURBS) and engineering for composites/molds. Portfolios showing mold division lines or draft analysis screenshots will be highly prioritized.
