# Parametric FreeCAD model of a machined titanium carabiner body (FreeCAD 1.x ONLY) ## Summary I need an experienced **FreeCAD** user (this is a hard requirement — not SolidWorks, not Fusion 360) to build a robust, fully parametric PartDesign model of a small machined part: the body of an EDC titanium key carabiner, cut by wire EDM from 5 mm plate, then milled (two symmetric 1.5 mm recesses) and drilled. This is NOT a from-scratch design job. The design exists: you get a 1:1 reference DXF for the aesthetics, a complete spec sheet with every functional dimension already measured from the physical product, and a **starter FreeCAD file containing the master skeleton sketch and a parameter Spreadsheet already wired with expressions**. Your job is craftsmanship: trace the silhouette properly (lines + tangent arcs only), build the features in the right order, keep every sketch fully constrained, and deliver a model that regenerates cleanly when parameters change. ## What you receive - Starter .FCStd: parameter Spreadsheet ("Parametros") + master skeleton sketch (gate axis, two anchor holes, nose seat point), fully constrained and expression-driven - Reference DXF in real mm (aesthetic guide; the anchor/nose zone of this DXF is known to be freehand and must NOT be traced — it is rebuilt from the skeleton) - Spec workbook (Carabiner_Body_Specs.xlsx): all dimensions, tolerances, criticality, modeling rules - Photo set of the existing product (assembly sequence, gate open/closed, caliper shots) ## Key requirements (full list in the spec workbook) 1. FreeCAD 1.x, single PartDesign Body, all dimensions driven by the provided Spreadsheet via expressions. 2. Feature order mirrors manufacturing: symmetric Pad (5 mm) → recess Pocket from an offset datum plane (Espesor/2 expression) mirrored about the mid-plane → through-all hole Pockets → chamfers/fillets last. 3. Wire-cut silhouette sketch: **lines and arcs only** (no splines), tangent-continuous, fully constrained, exportable as clean DXF for wire-EDM CAM. 4. Functional chain is sacred: two Ø3 anchor holes 5.0 mm apart (±0.05), collinear with the nose seat face center at 35.5 mm — these drive the gate preload of the real product. The skeleton already encodes this; everything else is built around it. 5. A construction-geometry verification sketch showing the gate outline in closed and ~30° open positions (no interference with the interior opening). 6. Decorative hole row (5 × Ø3) spaced by distribution between two endpoints — pitch must never be dimensioned directly, and the count must be editable. ## Deliverables - .FCStd source (clean tree, 0 DoF sketches — include screenshots of the Sketcher solver report) - STEP AP214 - DXF of the silhouette sketch (lines/arcs only) - TechDraw PDF: three views/details grouped by operation (wire cut / milling / drilling) with the tolerances from the spec sheet, critical dimensions highlighted - Acceptance test: I will change Espesor, recess depth, axis orientation and hole diameters in the Spreadsheet; the model must regenerate without errors or manual repair. ## Scope notes - Only the BODY. The gate (the spring clip) is an existing part and is out of scope, but its interface dimensions are in the spec sheet and must be respected exactly. - Confidential commercial product: files must not be shared or published.
