FlexSim Modeling for Manufacturing Facility

About the project

I have the floor plan and process data for a 40,000 sq ft medical-device manufacturing plant and now need it brought to life in FlexSim. The goal is to see—rather than just assume—how the process flow, layout design, and product flow interact, especially around the assembly line that drives most of our volume. Once the model runs smoothly, I want to interrogate it for production efficiency, throughput, and resource utilization so we can make confident decisions on capacity and future-proof expansion. You’ll start by translating the current layout into a realistic 3D FlexSim environment, dropping in machines, workstations, conveyors, buffers, and labor resources with cycle times, changeovers, and shift patterns I will supply. From there we will iterate: first validate the model against existing output, then test alternative line balances, routings, and floor configurations to spot hidden bottlenecks or under-used assets. Deliverables I need from you: • A fully parameterized FlexSim model of the entire manufacturing room, centred on the assembly line but including receiving, QA, and packing flows for contextual accuracy • Scenario files (or clear instructions) that let me toggle volumes, staffing levels, and shift structures without editing the core model • A concise results dashboard or exported report showing the three target KPIs—production efficiency, throughput, and resource utilization—plus any capacity alerts the simulation surfaces • A complete, as required, hand-off call so my engineering team can maintain and extend the model Acceptance criteria: the baseline scenario must recreate our current design/functionality expectations.
