Coarse-Tooth Multi-Tool Blade Design

GBP 20–250

About the project

I’m developing a new oscillating-multi-tool accessory and need a complete blade design focused on fast, controlled sawing. The blade must excel at cutting wood, plastic and mastic, so material choice, thickness and relief angles should all reflect those substrates. I have already settled on a coarse-tooth profile; what I need from you is the precise geometry that translates that decision into smooth chip clearance and long service life. Please create a CAD model (STEP or SolidWorks native preferred) with accompanying 2D drawings that call out critical dimensions, tolerances and recommended steel or bi-metal composition. A brief rationale for the tooth set, gullet depth and heat-treatment approach will help me validate manufacturability with my supplier. If you like, include a simple FEA or wear-rate estimate to back up your choices, but keep it lightweight—speed to prototype is the priority. Deliverables • 3D CAD file of the blade • Dimensioned engineering drawing (PDF/DXF) • One-page design note explaining tooth pattern, material selection and surface finish I will consider the task complete when the files import cleanly into SolidWorks 2022, the drawing dimensions align with the model, and the design rationale convincingly links the coarse-tooth pattern to high-speed sawing performance in wood, plastic and mastic.
