About the project

We're producing a premium video course that takes someone from "I've never opened CAD" to "I can design my own functional printed parts." We're hiring the person who builds it. The curriculum is already written — a detailed, lesson-by-lesson specification. You'll get a brief for every lesson: what to model, what to contrast it against, what to print, what to measure. You are not designing the syllabus. You're executing it at a professional standard. Three parts to the job: Teach Fusion 360 properly from zero — sketching, constraints, dimensions, solid modelling, the timeline, parameters, components and joints. Roughly 40 short lessons. Then teach designing FOR 3D printing — a long ladder of real projects where every part is designed to print support-free, strong, and to assemble with zero screws, inserts or glue (printed pins, snaps, dovetails, wedges, printed threads). Produce the reference sheets — around 30 one-page PDF "quick revision" sheets to accompany the lessons: design rules, tolerance tables, joint selectors, checklists. These use annotated screenshots from your own lessons (a marked-up Fusion dialog, a slicer preview with the problem circled, a photo of a printed test part). Clean, printable, one page each. Tell us in your application whether you want to do the layout yourself or just supply the screenshots and text for our designer to lay out — both are fine and priced differently. This is not a normal tutorial gig. Every lesson shows the way most people would model something, shows it costing time, plastic, or a broken part, then shows the design change that fixes it — proven with a physical printed object and a number you actually measured. You'll be printing, breaking, weighing and measuring parts, not just recording a screen. REQUIREMENTS — please don't apply unless you can tick all of these: Fusion 360 as your daily tool. Parametric, timeline-disciplined, keyboard-first modelling. You own and regularly use an FDM 3D printer. Not access to one — you own it. A multi-material printer: Bambu Lab with AMS, or Prusa with MMU. Part of the course covers designing for multi-colour and multi-material printing, so you need to print and demonstrate it. Digital callipers, and willingness to build simple test rigs (we do load tests on a luggage scale, on camera). Clear spoken English. Your face is never on camera — this is screen recording plus close-up shots of printed parts — but your voice carries the whole course. Basic screenshot annotation (arrows, callouts, highlights). Full graphic-design skill is optional — see item 3 above. Reliable delivery against milestones. Nice to have: existing YouTube/tutorial work, teaching experience, mechanical or product design background, Orca/Bambu Studio fluency, Canva or Figma for the sheets. Scope & terms: Phase 1 is roughly 60 lessons / 13+ hours of finished video plus the reference sheets, over 3–4 months in paid milestones. Hourly, rate based on experience. Long-term monthly work available after launch. Work-for-hire, full IP assigns to us. On-screen instructor credit available if you want it (tell us — some prefer to ghost). TO APPLY — send these six things. Applications missing any will not be read: 1. Photos of 3 functional parts you designed and printed yourself. Real printed objects, not renders. One line each on what it's for. 2. A photo of your printer with the AMS/MMU visible, and one multi-colour or multi-material part you've printed. 3. In 2–4 sentences: a 5 mm hole printed vertically comes out undersized. Why does that happen, and what are three different ways a designer can deal with it? 4. Honestly: name a situation where you'd tell someone NOT to use a printed snap-fit or printed pin, and use a metal screw or heat-set insert instead — and why. 5. A 1-minute voice or screen-recording sample of you explaining any small technical thing. 6. One annotated screenshot. Take any screenshot from Fusion 360 or your slicer, mark it up as if you were explaining one thing to a beginner, and send it. Any tool. We're looking at whether it's clear, not whether it's pretty. Say which layout option you prefer from item 3. ⚠ READ THIS FIRST — SPOKEN ENGLISH IS A HARD REQUIREMENT This course is narrated from start to finish and sells to an American, British, Canadian and Australian audience. Your voice IS the product. We need fluent, natural English with clear pronunciation that a Western listener can follow effortlessly for 15+ hours without straining or rewinding. A mild accent is completely fine — a heavy accent that makes listeners replay a sentence is not. Pace, clarity and correct phrasing matter as much as vocabulary. Every applicant must submit a 1-minute voice sample. We judge on the sample alone — not on your country or where you're based. Strong candidates from any region are welcome and encouraged to apply. If you're not confident your spoken English meets this bar, please don't bid. We reject on the voice sample before looking at anything else, and it wastes your time and ours.
