Spring-Loaded Popper Design & BOM
INR 600–1500
About the project
I’m developing a cardboard-housed, spring-mechanism party popper that bursts with both confetti and streamers, and I need a full design package that can go straight to production. The popper must accommodate multiple exterior colour variations—think festive, eye-catching artwork printed directly on the tube—while keeping structural integrity under the stored spring energy. Here’s what I need from you: • Mechanical design: 3D CAD of the popper body, end caps, safety sleeve, and the reusable spring system, sized for standard 30 mm inner diameter cardboard tubing. • Performance specs: spring rate calculations, preload force, and safe maximum load so the contents launch cleanly without tearing the housing. • Bill of Materials: itemised part list with suggested suppliers, materials (cardboard grade, plastic plungers, wire type for the spring), and estimated unit costs. • Artwork templates: print-ready dielines for the tube so I can swap in different colour themes. • Assembly guide: step-by-step drawings or photos showing how to load confetti and streamers together without jamming. • Compliance notes: confirmation the design stays within common consumer-safety limits for noise and projectile force. Acceptance criteria 1. Prototype files must be ready for 3D printing or rapid cardboard sampling. 2. When the design is simulated or test-fired, contents should reach at least 1.5 m height in still air. 3. All components documented in the BOM are commercially available with MOQ ≤ 1000. Deliver the native CAD files (SolidWorks or Fusion 360 is fine), PDFs for drawings, and an Excel or CSV BOM. Once the package hits the above criteria, I’ll move on to prototyping and production quotes.
