About the project

I have a 120-million point cloud scan of a massive Banyan tree (LAS/PLY format). We need this converted into an optimized .glb 3D model suitable for a real-time web viewer using Three.js. I have optimized down to 69 mill. Scope of Work: Segmentation: Separate the wood structure (trunks/branches/aerial roots) from the foliage/leaves using CloudCompare (or similar tool). Trunk Meshing: Generate a clean surface mesh of the trunk/branch skeleton and decimate it in Blender down to ~150k–200k polygons. Foliage Optimization: Create an efficient foliage layer (either optimized low-poly canopy volumes with leaf textures or leaf billboard instances) to keep total file size light. Export: Combine into a final optimized .glb file with Draco compression enabled, ready for Three.js. Deliverables: Optimized .glb file (Target size under 30MB). Cleaned source file. Questions for You: Do you have experience working with large point clouds (70M+ points) and optimizing assets for web/Three.js? What is your estimated fixed price and turnaround time for this?
