About the project
Senior Unity Developer Needed – Upgrade Existing Live Multiplayer Game App (Google Play & iOS) Project Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Unity Developer to help us upgrade and improve an existing mobile gaming application. The app is already live on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. The backend, infrastructure, and overall project structure are already completed and working. This is not a new app development project — we are looking for a skilled developer who can understand an existing Unity project and implement important upgrades, fixes, and new features. The project was developed using Unity (earlier Unity versions), so experience working with existing Unity projects, upgrading systems, debugging, and maintaining production-level mobile games is highly important. If you are a senior-level Unity developer with experience in multiplayer games and online systems, this project is suitable for you. ⸻ Main Tasks & Requirements 1. Online Multiplayer Matching & Game Room System (Priority Task) The most important part of this upgrade is improving and fixing the online multiplayer experience. Tasks include: * Fixing and improving the online player matching system * Improving game room creation and connection flow * Ensuring players can correctly join and connect to game rooms * Debugging multiplayer connection issues * Improving stability and reliability of online gameplay The goal is to create a smooth multiplayer experience similar to modern online board game platforms. ⸻ 2. Upgrade Game Tokens (2D → 3D) Currently, the board games use 2D tokens/pieces. We want to upgrade these into 3D tokens. Tasks include: * Creating new 3D token models * Implementing them into existing board games * Ensuring correct animations and interactions * Maintaining performance for mobile devices (Android & iOS) Experience with 3D assets, animations, and optimization in Unity is required. ⸻ 3. Develop New Games From Existing Designs We already have additional games shown as images/design concepts inside the app. The task is to: * Transform these designs into fully playable games * Develop the gameplay mechanics in Unity * Integrate them into the existing game platform * Connect them with the existing backend and systems ⸻ Required Skills You should have: * Strong experience with Unity (senior level) * Experience with existing Unity projects * Multiplayer game development experience * Knowledge of online matchmaking systems * Experience with game rooms/lobbies * C# programming skills * Experience developing mobile games for Android and iOS * Experience optimizing Unity games for production Experience with board games, turn-based games, or multiplayer mobile games is a strong advantage. ⸻ Important Information * The application is already published on: * Google Play Store * Apple App Store * Backend and project structure already exist. * We are looking for someone who can continue and upgrade the existing system. * This project requires someone who can understand existing code and work independently. ⸻ Budget & Long-Term Opportunity The initial budget is approximately $2–$3 USD per hour. This is a test collaboration. If the project goes well and the developer shows strong skills and reliability, there will be opportunities for more work and higher compensation on future updates and projects. ⸻ Who Should Apply? Please apply only if you are: * A senior Unity developer * Comfortable working with existing production apps * Experienced with multiplayer systems * Able to analyze, fix, and upgrade an existing Unity project When applying, please include: 1. Examples of Unity multiplayer games you have worked on 2. Your experience with matchmaking/game rooms 3. Your Unity version experience 4. Your estimated availability We are looking for a developer who can become a long-term technical partner for our gaming platform.
