About the project

PROJECT BRIEF: HEAD REPLACEMENT ON A FIXED FIGURINE TEMPLATE (100 UNITS) WHAT THIS IS We make personalised desk figurines as corporate gifts. Every figurine is the same 3D template: a stylised toy-style person at a desk. Per gift, only the head changes (the recipient's likeness, from a photo we provide). Branding is applied separately by our print partner and is not your problem. Your job is the head. THE JOB, PER UNIT - We give you: the master template file (3MF for now, opens in Bambu Studio; the final production template may replace it once, same geometry), one photo of the person, and a stylised head reference render in our locked toy style. - You produce: the same template with ONLY the head replaced, as one merged, watertight, print-ready mesh. - The head must match our stylised reference, not a realistic sculpt. Style consistency across all 100 pieces matters more than perfect likeness. All 100 must look like they came from the same factory. HARD RULES (these protect our print partner's setup) 1. The template stays untouched outside the head and neck blend. No rescaling, no remeshing, no decimation, no moving parts, no mirroring, no improvements. Our printing partner has calibrated his printers to this exact geometry and must never have to redesign it. 2. Dimensions are locked. Units are mm. The delivered piece must match the template's bounding box exactly. Head volume stays proportional to the master head. Likeness changes, size does not. 3. One figure = one mesh. The head is fused to the body with a clean neck transition. No floating shells, no intersecting geometry. 4. Print-ready means watertight and manifold. We run an automated mesh check on every delivery. Pieces that fail come back for rework at no extra cost. 5. Colour: final files must carry colour on the vertices. In ZBrush that is polypaint, exported as OBJ with per-vertex colour. The figure prints in FULL COLOUR, so a colourless STL is not a final deliverable. If your export pipeline genuinely cannot do this, tell us before the test unit and we will discuss a fallback. DELIVERABLES AND NAMING - Per person: one folder named after the person, containing the merged figure as OBJ with vertex colours. Same orientation, origin and scale as the template. - Rolling delivery in agreed batches. Acceptance per piece: automated mesh check plus visual approval against the reference. VOLUME AND TIMELINE - 100 units in this batch. A second body template (female) is coming shortly. Same process, so total volume may grow. - We start with 1 paid test unit. If approved, we continue in batches of 10. - The full 100 must be finished by 20 August. Tell us your realistic per-unit time, how many you can deliver per day, and your per-unit price at this volume. BEFORE THE CALL, PLEASE SEND - 2 or 3 examples of similar work: head or face replacement, likeness merged onto an existing body. - Confirmation that you can export OBJ with per-vertex colour (polypaint). - Per-unit price at 100 units, and daily capacity.
