About the project

I have a set of unique part geometries that need to be molded in ABS plastic, so the focus is on creating a reliable injection mold specifically for custom parts rather than high-volume mass production. The core of the job is to translate my existing 3D models into a fully detailed mold design that can be machined and tested without surprises. You’ll start from the STEP files I supply, optimise gate placement and runner layout for ABS, add draft where necessary, and resolve any undercuts through lifters or slides. Ideally, you work comfortably in SolidWorks or NX and can back up decisions with basic Moldflow or equivalent simulation to confirm fill, pack, and cooling performance for ABS. I will need: • A complete 3D tool assembly showing cavity, core, cooling, ejector system, and bill of materials • 2D manufacturing drawings in PDF and DWG, including critical dimensions and tolerance call-outs • A brief report (screenshots are fine) summarising flow and cooling analysis results and any design trade-offs you made Files should be ready for direct hand-off to my local toolmaker. If you can suggest cost-saving tweaks or foresee maintenance issues, include them in the report so we can address everything in the first cut.
