About the project

I am looking for an experienced 3D artist who specializes in preparing organic models and miniatures for resin 3D printing. I already have: An existing Blender file containing the horse and jockey model Reference images showing the intended appearance An annotated image showing the required modifications Defined dimensions for the miniature, pedestal and magnet recess The model will be used as a moving horse piece for a physical board game. The playing surface is covered with magnetic sheet material. A small neodymium magnet inside the base will only be used to prevent the horse from tipping over during play. The horse does not need to be completely recreated. The existing Blender model should be used as the basis and modified for reliable resin 3D printing. MODEL DIMENSIONS Final horse length: exactly 40 mm Approximate pedestal/base diameter: 9 mm The proportions and appearance of the existing horse and jockey should be preserved as closely as possible MAGNET RECESS Please add an open circular recess underneath the base for a neodymium disc magnet. Main version: Magnet size: 6 mm diameter × 1 mm thickness Recess diameter: 6.2 mm Recess depth: approximately 1.15 mm The magnet will be glued into the recess The installed magnet should sit almost flush, but approximately 0.05–0.1 mm inside the bottom surface The magnet must not protrude or scratch the magnetic playing surface The base must retain sufficient wall thickness around the recess Please also provide an alternative STL version for a 5 × 1 mm magnet: Recess diameter: 5.2 mm Recess depth: approximately 1.15 mm REQUIRED MODEL MODIFICATIONS The final model must be suitable for high-resolution resin 3D printing at only 40 mm horse length. Please complete the following work: Add a stable pedestal/support beneath the horse, based on the appearance shown in the reference images. Connect the pedestal securely and naturally to the horse. Add the magnet recesses described above. Reinforce all fragile details to a minimum printable thickness of approximately 0.5–0.6 mm. The stirrups must be solid, closed and at least 0.6 mm thick. The reins should be approximately 0.5 mm thick and should mainly lie directly against, or be connected to, the horse’s head and neck. The jockey’s hands and reins must be securely connected. The whip must be reinforced and connected to the jockey or horse. All floating or disconnected equipment parts must be connected to the horse or jockey. The jockey must be securely connected to the horse. Any gaps between the jockey’s body, thighs or knees and the horse must be bridged in a visually unobtrusive way. The connection between the jockey and horse should be sufficiently long and stable, ideally at least approximately 2 mm at the relevant contact points. Reinforce other fragile areas where necessary, especially the horse’s legs, ears, tail and any thin tack details, while preserving the original appearance. Remove internal, duplicated or unnecessary geometry that could cause printing problems. Correct the normals and create a clean, watertight/manifold mesh with no holes, non-manifold edges or floating parts. Verify the completed model in a suitable slicer at its final 40 mm size. The model should remain visually detailed, but printability and durability as a board-game piece are more important than preserving extremely fine details that cannot be printed reliably. DELIVERABLES Please provide: Editable Blender file The final Blender file should preferably open in a current Blender version Print-ready STL for a 6 × 1 mm magnet Alternative print-ready STL for a 5 × 1 mm magnet Both STL files scaled to the final size of exactly 40 mm horse length Screenshots showing the completed model from the front, side, rear and underneath Screenshot of the final model loaded and checked in a slicer Confirmation that the files are watertight/manifold and ready for resin printing Two reasonable revision rounds The editable Blender file and all final files must be included. I require full commercial usage rights for the completed modifications because the figures are intended for a board game. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Please apply only if you have demonstrable experience with: Blender Organic or character modelling Miniatures or tabletop figures Preparing models for resin 3D printing Creating watertight/manifold STL files Minimum wall thickness and structural reinforcement Slicer verification Please include examples of similar printable miniatures or organic 3D models in your application. BUDGET AND TIME FRAME Fixed-price budget: €200–250 Preferred completion time: 5–7 days A physical test print is welcome but not mandatory. If you can provide one, please quote it separately. PAYMENT MILESTONES Milestone 1 – 30%: Initial revised model Pedestal and magnet recess added Fragile and disconnected parts corrected Preview images supplied Milestone 2 – 70%: Final corrections completed Both print-ready STL versions delivered Editable Blender file delivered Slicer verification supplied Final files approved Please confirm in your proposal that you have reviewed all requirements and can deliver both the editable Blender file and the print-ready STL files.
