About the project
We are a boutique managed IT services company (MSP) based in the Greater Toronto Area, supporting 100+ business clients across a wide range of industries. We're expanding our after-hours coverage and need a remote L1 technician to handle overnight technical escalations. Scope of work Troubleshoot server-related issues: network drive/share connectivity, server errors Provide remote workstation support, including VPN connectivity assistance Support client production applications at the access/login/licensing level — AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Creative Cloud, Blender (not application training or how-to guidance) Triage and begin remote work within a 2-hour response window on escalated issues Escalate anything beyond L1 scope to our on-call senior technicians Handle basic ticket intake from 9–10 PM ET before our overnight admin comes online; admin handles intake/logging after that Stack / Tools Remote support tooling (RMM, remote desktop) VPN and network drive troubleshooting Familiarity with design/production software a plus Required Solid L1-level troubleshooting experience (networking basics, VPN, remote desktop tools) Comfortable working independently overnight with minimal supervision Clear written and spoken English for phone-based support Reliable internet and a quiet home setup Nice to have Experience supporting AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, SketchUp, Bluebeam, or Blender Prior MSP or IT helpdesk experience How we work Fully remote, overnight shift 9:00 PM–5:00 AM Eastern Time (weekends included) Initial 2-week paid training: Mon–Fri, 4–6 hrs/day within 10 AM–6 PM ET (exact hours flexible, TBD) so you have live access to our team while onboarding Ongoing, recurring role A signed NDA is required before any system or client access Police clearance certificate required before start AI use is acceptable as part of your workflow, but you need to have the underlying troubleshooting skills to use it effectively as a tool, not as a substitute for them.
