Reengineer 3D Durable Hand Knob

About the project

I have a small circular 3D printed hand-knob that is currently. The ring-shaped section feels stringy and flexes more than I’d like, so the goal is to toughen that area without changing the overall outside dimensions or the mating interface. You’ll be working with 3D STL, as that’s the material I’d like to switch to for its higher impact strength. The key requirement is increased durability; aesthetics and grip can remain exactly as they are now. I can supply the existing CAD/STL file along with photos of the part in use. What I need back is an updated 3D model ready for either rapid prototyping or direct injection-moulding—wall thicknesses, radii, ribs or gussets adjusted so the circular section feels solid in Polycarbonate while still mould-friendly. Deliverables • Revised CAD file (STEP or IGES plus STL) • Brief notes explaining what was changed and why, so any toolmaker can follow your logic Once I print the prototype and confirm the feel, the project is complete.
