About the project

I’m putting together a qualitative study that zeroes in on how Building Information Modeling can sharpen cost-prediction accuracy during the design phase—specifically for project scheduling costs. I already have access to several recent BIM models and project archives; what I need is a researcher who can turn those raw resources into clear, evidence-based insights. Your role will be to explore current scheduling-cost workflows inside BIM, interview or survey key design-team members, and compare their practices against industry best-practice literature. I’m particularly keen on uncovering the factors that cause early estimates to drift and the adjustments that reliably pull numbers back on track before the drawings are frozen. Deliverables • A concise research plan outlining data-collection methods (interviews, document review, model interrogation) • Thematic analysis of findings with direct quotations and model screenshots where relevant • Actionable recommendations—both quick wins and longer-horizon process tweaks—aimed at raising scheduling-cost accuracy in future design iterations • A slide deck that summarizes the study for non-technical stakeholders I’m fluent in Revit and Navisworks, so feel free to reference features or plugins that could support the analysis.
