About the project

I need a seasoned engineer / industrial designer to translate my rough concept for a connected device into a fully-engineered plastic enclosure. The job centres on delivering a print-ready 3D model in STEP format that cleanly accommodates three off-the-shelf parts: weight sensors, a small LED array and a rechargeable battery pack. What has to happen • Layout the interior so each component seats firmly, with cable paths and strain relief designed in. • Keep external lines sleek and user-friendly; the finish must look consumer-ready, not just functional. • Recommend the most suitable plastic (and any inserts or gaskets) for strength, heat management and ease of manufacture, and flag any critical tolerances. • Document simple, repeatable assembly steps—screws vs. snap-fits, suggested fastening torque, wiring order, etc.—so a small team can build the prototype without guesswork. Deliverables 1. Parametric 3D files in STEP (.stp) ready for rapid prototyping or injection-moulding quotations. 2. A short assembly guide with exploded views or annotated screenshots. 3. A quick bill of materials listing hardware, adhesives or finishing details you recommend. When you reply, please outline: • Your relevant projects or portfolio links showing similar sensor-based enclosures. • An estimated timeline from kickoff to final files. • Your fee structure or milestone breakdown. I’ll be available for daily check-ins and can supply exact dimensions, datasheets and photos of all electronics the moment we start. Looking forward to collaborating on a smart, tight-tolerance build.
