Designer for High-End Detailed Front Yard Landscape

About the project

I’m looking for an experienced landscape designer or landscape architect to create a complete master plan for the front yard of my home in Detroit, Michigan. The yard is currently sloped, and one of the main goals is to redesign it into a stepped/terraced landscape with retaining walls and thoughtfully designed elevation changes. I’m looking for a high-end, custom design with a lot of texture, depth, and year-round interest. I would like to incorporate a thoughtful mixture of lawn/turf, decorative rock, mulch, natural stone/boulders, trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, and flowering perennials rather than having the entire yard treated the same way. I’m also interested in incorporating Michigan-native and pollinator-friendly plants for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial wildlife while keeping the overall landscape polished and intentional rather than wild or overgrown. Ideally, the project would include: * Overall landscape master plan * Grading/terracing and retaining-wall concepts * Tree, shrub, grass, and perennial placement * Michigan-native/pollinator planting recommendations * Lawn/turf, mulch, decorative rock, and hardscape areas * Plant list with quantities and recommended sizes * 2D plans and realistic 3D renderings * Landscape lighting recommendations * Irrigation plan or irrigation recommendations, including lawn sprinklers and drip irrigation for planting areas * Consideration of drainage and water movement when redesigning the slope My goal is something modern, timeless, upscale, highly textured, and unique—not a typical suburban landscape. I would like the finished yard to feel professionally designed and potentially magazine-quality or award-worthy, while still being practical to build and maintain in Michigan. I will be able to provide photos, measurements, property information, and additional details needed to develop the design.
