3D CAD Modelling & Connection Detail Drawings – Aluminium Framing System
AUD 250–750
About the project
We are looking for an experienced 3D CAD modeller / technical draftsman to update our existing connection detail drawings for the Spanmor aluminium framing system. Spanmor supplies engineered aluminium framing systems used for: Deck and balcony subfloor systems Pergolas Patios and alfresco structures Carports Awnings Other residential outdoor structures We currently have a library of relatively standard 2D CAD connection drawings. We want these drawings recreated as clean, professional 3D technical models and rendered connection details that can be used throughout our installation guides, technical documentation and product literature. This is primarily a documentation and visualisation project — not a redesign of our connections. Scope of Work For each connection detail provided, we require the existing connection to be accurately recreated in 3D. Each completed connection must include: 1. Isometric View A clean 3D isometric view showing the completed connection and how all components interface. 2. Front View A clear orthographic front view of the completed connection. 3. Top View A clear orthographic top/plan view of the completed connection. 4. Exploded Isometric View An exploded assembly diagram showing the individual components separated clearly enough to demonstrate how the connection is assembled. Where beneficial, additional views may be required for connections that cannot be clearly communicated using the standard views above. Drawing Style We are looking for a clean engineering/product-documentation style, not photorealistic architectural renders. The finished drawings should: Accurately represent the supplied Spanmor components and connections Have clean geometry and consistent perspective Clearly distinguish individual components Use consistent linework, lighting and rendering across the complete drawing library Have a professional technical/product manual appearance Be suitable for installation manuals, technical data sheets and digital documentation Maintain consistent camera angles and presentation between drawings No text, dimensions, arrows, callouts or annotations are required. We will add this information separately when the drawings are placed into our technical documents. Accuracy Is Extremely Important The supplied drawings and reference material must be followed closely. The freelancer must not redesign, reinterpret or modify the connection geometry unless specifically instructed. The objective is to take our existing connection details and convert them into a much clearer and more professional 3D technical drawing system. This includes accurately representing items such as: Aluminium beams Aluminium posts Beam connectors Post connectors Brackets Screws and mechanical fixings Roofing/support connections Subfloor connections Other Spanmor components Component proportions, fixing locations, orientation and assembly relationships must remain accurate to the supplied reference material. Resources We Can Provide We have extensive resources available to make the modelling process easier, including where applicable: Existing CAD drawings Existing connection detail drawings Product drawings Product dimensions Component reference images Product renders Installation information Technical documentation Photographs of physical connections Additional measurements where required We are happy to work closely with the successful freelancer to establish an accurate master style before the complete library is produced. Preferred Workflow We would ideally begin with one representative connection as a test / master drawing. Once the modelling accuracy, rendering style, camera positions and exploded-view format are approved, that style should then be carried consistently across the remaining connection library. This is important because the final drawings will eventually form one coordinated technical drawing system across Spanmor's documentation. Deliverables For each connection we would like: Completed 3D CAD model Front orthographic view Top orthographic view Isometric view Exploded isometric view High-resolution PNG exports with transparent or clean neutral backgrounds Editable/source CAD files Vector exports such as PDF, SVG or DWG/DXF would also be beneficial where practical. Please advise which CAD software and file formats you normally work with. Ideal Freelancer We are looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following: Mechanical CAD Product design Engineering drafting Fabrication drawings Aluminium or steel structures Construction connection details Exploded assembly diagrams Technical product documentation Experience with software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp or similar professional CAD software is suitable, provided accurate editable 3D models can be delivered. This project is less suited to someone who only produces architectural visualisations. Strong CAD modelling and technical drawing ability is important. When Applying Please include: Examples of previous 3D CAD or technical drawing work. Examples of exploded assembly diagrams if available. The CAD software you use. The editable file formats you can provide. Your preferred pricing structure — hourly or per connection/detail. Any experience working from older 2D drawings and converting them into accurate 3D assemblies. If the initial project is successful, there is potential for ongoing work, as we have a growing library of components, connection details and technical documentation that will require the same drawing standard. About Spanmor Spanmor is an Australian supplier of engineered aluminium framing systems for residential construction. Our systems are used across deck and balcony subfloors as well as standing structures including pergolas, patios, alfresco areas, awnings and carports. The goal of this project is to establish a consistent, professional 3D technical drawing library that clearly communicates how the Spanmor system and its connections are assembled.
