About the project

I want you to build a **reusable After Effects template system**, not a one-off video. The final videos will be around **60 seconds, vertical 9:16**, and I will reuse the same template for many different neighborhoods in Istanbul. The visual style should feel like **modern editorial / Vox-inspired motion graphics**: clean, graphic, fast, typographic and data-driven. It should feel intelligent and visually interesting, but not overly flashy or complicated. I will record the voice-over separately. The animation should work together with short, rhythmic sentences and quick visual changes. ## VIDEO STRUCTURE ### 01 — MAP / HOOK **0–4 sec** Start with a clean xxxxxx map. Quick zoom from xxxxx into the selected neighborhood. The neighborhood boundary becomes highlighted. Large editable title: **THIS IS XXXXXXX** The neighborhood name, map and highlighted area must be easily replaceable. --- ### 02 — POPULATION **4–10 sec** A large number appears. Example: **226,000** Small supporting text: **people live here** Simple, strong animation. The number should be the main visual focus. --- ### 03 — DENSITY **10–16 sec** Move naturally from population into population density. Example: **6,457 / km²** Use a visual system such as dots, grids, blocks or another graphic language to make the density feel visual. It should not just look like a number appearing on screen. --- ### 04 — GREEN SPACE **16–22 sec** Show the green-space figure. Example: **3.2 m²** **per person** The map can reveal or highlight green areas. Keep the same visual language as the previous scenes. --- ### 05 — BUILDING DENSITY / HEIGHT **22–28 sec** Visualize building height or building density. Example: **8.7 FLOORS** Buildings can rise from a 2D map/grid. A subtle 2.5D feeling is good, but I don't want heavy 3D. --- ### 06 — MAIN STORY / “BUT...” **28–38 sec** This is where the video becomes more narrative. For example: **BUT...** Then the voice-over explains what makes this particular neighborhood interesting. This scene must be **highly modular**. Depending on the neighborhood, I may use: * typography * map animation * a graphic * a diagram * a statistic * a photo * a short video So don't build this around one specific subject. --- ### 07 — MEDIA SLIDE **Flexible duration** I want a reusable scene where I can easily insert my own: * photographs * videos * archival images * screenshots * maps * visual references It should feel like part of the same design system. For example, an image could slide or scale into a designed frame, with typography and small graphic elements around it. This should be extremely easy to replace. I may use this scene at different points in different episodes. --- ### 08 — FLEXIBLE STORY SCENE **Flexible duration** Another modular scene for the neighborhood-specific story. It could be: * a map * typography * a large statement * a number * a diagram * a photo/video * a geographic animation The important thing is that I can adapt it without rebuilding the animation. --- ### 09 — CONCLUSION **54–59 sec** A strong final sentence. Example: **“So Bakırköy's real problem isn't its population — it's how intensely it uses its limited space.”** The sentence will change for every neighborhood. The typography system should therefore work with different sentence lengths. --- ### 10 — OUTRO **59–60 sec** Very short ending. Neighborhood name + series identity / small Istanbul map element. Keep it minimal. --- # IMPORTANT: MAKE EVERYTHING REUSABLE I want a clean project structure such as: **MASTER** * 01_MAP_HOOK * 02_POPULATION * 03_DENSITY * 04_GREEN_SPACE * 05_BUILDINGS * 06_MAIN_STORY * 07_MEDIA_SLIDE * 08_FLEXIBLE_STORY * 09_CONCLUSION * 10_OUTRO Each scene should be modular and easy to duplicate/rearrange. I should be able to change: * neighborhood name * all numbers * text * maps * highlighted areas * photos * videos * icons / graphic elements without rebuilding the animation. ## VISUAL CONTROLS This is very important: Please create a **central control system** so I can easily change the overall visual style. I want to be able to control things such as: * primary color * secondary color * background color * text color * accent color * grid color * map color * highlight color * opacity * line thickness * background/grid style * typography scale where practical Ideally these should be controlled through **Essential Properties / a centralized Control Null / Expression Controls**, whichever is the cleanest solution. For example, I should be able to make one version: **white background + black typography + red accent** and another version: **off-white background + dark typography + blue accent** without rebuilding the animation. The same applies to the map and graphic elements. ## TYPOGRAPHY Typography should be clean, bold and editorial. It needs to work especially well with **short Turkish sentences and large numbers**. Don't design the template around English sentence lengths. I will use Turkish text in the final videos. ## TIMING Don't lock every scene to exactly 60 seconds. The total video will usually be around 60 seconds, but individual scenes need to be **time-adjustable** because the voice-over will change from episode to episode. The scenes should be easy to extend, shorten, duplicate or remove. ## MOST IMPORTANT I don't want a complicated animation showcase. I want a **production system** that allows me to create many neighborhood videos quickly. The visual identity should be strong enough that when someone sees the video, they immediately recognize the series. But the template must remain flexible enough that after making 20–30 episodes, it doesn't feel repetitive. The core idea is: **DATA → VISUALIZATION → STORY → NEIGHBORHOOD-SPECIFIC DETAIL → CONCLUSION** Clean, fast, rhythmic and highly reusable.
