Plastic Injection Mould Designer Required – 24/32 Cavity HDPE Mould – Complete Manufacturing Drawings
INR 7500–9000
About the project
We are looking for an experienced Plastic Injection Mould Designer to develop a complete production-ready mould design for two small HDPE plastic components. Component details: * Material: HDPE * Approx. component weight: 1.8 grams each * Two components with a tight mating/assembly fit * Physical samples will be provided to the selected designer by courier. * Required mould: 24 or 32 cavities, depending on final mould size, plate dimensions, machine compatibility and economical manufacturing. * Final cavity count will be decided after proper mould design study. Important requirement This is NOT only a 3D CAD modelling job. We need a complete manufacturing-ready injection mould design so that we can purchase the raw mould materials and give individual machining jobs to local CNC, milling, EDM, drilling, grinding and lathe suppliers, and finally assemble the complete mould ourselves. Designer must provide 1. Accurate reverse-engineering of both physical components 2. 3D CAD models of both components 3. Proper mating/assembly fit between the two components 4. Complete 24/32-cavity mould layout 5. Core and cavity design 6. Parting-line design 7. Runner and gate system 8. Balanced filling system for all cavities 9. Proper HDPE shrinkage allowance 10. Cooling-water channel design for uniform cooling and minimum shrinkage/warpage 11. Complete ejection system 12. Guide pillar/bush arrangement 13. Complete mould plate design 14. Detailed 2D manufacturing drawings for every plate and component 15. Exact dimensions and tolerances 16. Material specifications for plates, inserts and mould components 17. Complete BOM 18. Standard component specifications 19. CNC/milling/EDM/drilling/lathe job-work drawings 20. Complete mould assembly drawing 21. Exploded assembly drawing 22. Final mould dimensions and estimated mould weight 23. Recommended injection-moulding machine specifications 24. Complete manufacturing sequence/notes where required Cost optimisation The mould should be designed for economical manufacturing. Please use standard mould components wherever practical and avoid unnecessarily complicated mechanisms. We will manufacture/arrange machining locally, so the drawings must be clear enough for individual job-work suppliers to manufacture each part accurately and assemble the complete mould without guesswork. Cooling requirement Cooling is very important because the components are very small and made from HDPE. The cooling system must be properly balanced across the cavities to achieve consistent cycle time and minimise shrinkage, warpage and dimensional variation. Before starting the complete mould After receiving the physical samples, the designer must first reverse-engineer and provide the 3D CAD models of both components for our approval. Only after we approve the component geometry should the designer proceed with the complete mould design. Experience required Please apply only if you have actual plastic injection mould design/manufacturing experience, particularly with: * HDPE/PP * Multi-cavity moulds * 24/32 cavity moulds * Core/cavity design * Cooling design * Runner/gate balancing * Ejection systems * Production moulds * Manufacturing drawings Please send examples/photos of previous multi-cavity injection moulds you have designed and manufactured. We are looking for a practical mould designer who understands actual tool-room manufacturing, not someone who only creates attractive 3D models. Physical samples will be couriered to the selected freelancer after finalising the designer, scope, price and confidentiality.
