AUD 40–60
About the project
We are an Australian fishing and outdoor apparel brand based in NSW. We are looking for a reliable and experienced freelance apparel graphic designer to work with us on an ongoing contract basis. We already have an established graphic designer and existing garment/mockup templates. We are looking to add another designer to assist with our custom apparel workload and, most importantly, provide reliable and consistent turnaround times. WHAT THE WORK INVOLVES You will work from our existing garment templates and take client logos, artwork, colours and design instructions to create professional apparel mockups for client approval. Our custom apparel includes: • Sublimated fishing shirts – long sleeve, short sleeve, hooded and collared • Cotton T-shirts and long sleeves • Hoodies and crew jumpers • Jackets • Caps and other custom apparel Our typical design presentation includes: • Realistic front and back garment mockups • Client logos and artwork accurately positioned on the garment • Flat front and back garment artwork • Individual sleeve artwork where required • Pantone/PMS colour references • Print sizes and placement information • Garment, sizing and quantity details • Production-ready artwork/layouts/print files SOFTWARE & EXPERIENCE Our current workflow primarily uses: • Adobe Illustrator • Adobe Photoshop • Adobe InDesign Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills are essential. InDesign experience is highly desirable. You do NOT need CLO3D or other specialist 3D fashion software. Our realistic garment mockups are currently created using Adobe software and our existing templates. We are specifically looking for someone with experience in apparel design. Experience with sublimation, sportswear, fishing apparel, jerseys, teamwear or uniforms would be a major advantage. You should also be comfortable working with vector artwork, logo placement, Pantone/PMS colours and identifying when supplied client artwork needs to be cleaned up or vectorised. ONGOING WORK This is not a one-off project. We are looking for someone we can build a long-term working relationship with. Some weeks may involve multiple new designs and client amendments, while other weeks may be quieter. Reliability is extremely important to us. We need someone who communicates well, follows briefs accurately and delivers within agreed timeframes. Our ideal turnaround for most standard mockups using our existing templates is approximately 1–2 business days. PAID TRIAL We intend to offer a paid trial project before choosing who we work with ongoing. We will provide the selected designers with an existing garment template, client artwork and a typical design brief so we can assess the quality of the mockup, attention to detail, communication and turnaround. WHEN APPLYING Please look to include: • Examples of apparel mockups you have previously created • Examples of sublimation, sportswear, jersey or uniform artwork if available • Your experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop • Whether you use Adobe InDesign • Your usual turnaround time for an apparel mockup • Your location/timezone • Your availability for ongoing work • Your preferred hourly rate OR approximate price per completed mockup Please start your proposal with the word “GRAPHICS” so we know you have read the full project description.
