About the project

# Job title **Mechanical Engineer for Complex CAD Design & Simulation Change Data** # Job description We are looking for an experienced **mechanical design engineer** to create real-world engineering design-change cases for AI training. Each project will involve a realistic engineering component or assembly that goes through a meaningful design iteration. The deliverable should demonstrate **why the original design was changed, what engineering evidence drove the change, and how the final design resolved the identified issues**. A typical project will include: * An initial/failed CAD design * Engineering analysis showing the limitation or failure of the initial design * A revised CAD design * Analysis evidence demonstrating the improvement of the revised design * A clear engineering change log explaining the design decisions and trade-offs * Relevant dimensions, design requirements, materials, loads, boundary conditions, and assumptions * Final CAD and simulation files The projects should represent **T3-level complex/multi-domain engineering work**, rather than simple brackets or routine parts. Examples include **inverter housings, battery enclosures, ECU housings, axle components, turbocharger housings, and EV structural components**. The sourcing guide describes T3 work as involving multiple physics domains, significant iteration, and competing engineering constraints. For example, a design may initially fail a thermal requirement, leading to a geometry change. Subsequent structural analysis may reveal a new stress or fatigue issue, requiring another design adjustment before arriving at a final geometry that satisfies thermal, structural, and manufacturing requirements. This type of multi-step engineering reasoning is specifically representative of the required complexity level. ### Required engineering skills * Mechanical engineering / product design * 3D CAD modeling * Design for manufacturing * Structural engineering judgment * FEA and engineering simulation * Ability to interpret simulation results and make design changes * Understanding of thermal/structural trade-offs * Ability to document engineering decisions and design revisions * Experience working with complex mechanical components or assemblies ### Software **Required:** * SolidWorks CAD * SolidWorks Simulation Experience with additional engineering simulation tools is a plus. ### Important requirements The design must represent a **realistic, buildable engineering product or assembly**, rather than an arbitrary CAD model. The initial design should be created honestly against defined engineering requirements, and the failure should come from the analysis rather than being artificially introduced. The pre- and post-change geometries must clearly correspond to the documented design change, and the analysis conditions should remain consistent between versions so that the improvement is attributable to the design change. ### NDA A custom NDA can be provided if required. Work completed through the platform is also subject to the platform's applicable NDA/IP terms.
