Senior Adobe Illustrator Production Artist – Heraldic Artwork Refinement & Historical Badge Restoration

About the project

I need a Senior Adobe Illustrator Production Artist / Vector Artwork Restoration Specialist to complete two substantially developed family memorial artworks: 1. Grech Family Coat of Arms 2. Historical King George VI Royal Engineers badge This is NOT a logo design project and I am NOT requesting a redesign from scratch. Existing artwork, Adobe Illustrator files and detailed historical reference photographs will be supplied. The work primarily involves careful refinement, correction and selective reconstruction only where genuinely necessary. The final style must remain prestigious, historically significant, richly coloured and heraldic, with realistic 3D depth and premium metallic gold and silver rendering where historically appropriate. Colours must remain faithful to the supplied references. I do NOT want flat, pale, cartoon-like, simplified or generic logo-style artwork. The successful freelancer must: • Be highly experienced with Adobe Illustrator and complex vector artwork • Be comfortable editing existing artwork rather than automatically redrawing everything • Accurately restore historical insignia from genuine photographic references • Preserve rich 3D metallic depth and vivid colours • Follow precise instructions without imposing a completely different artistic style • Personally speak and write fluent English and understand detailed English briefs accurately • Inspect the existing AI files before quoting and explain what can be retained, what genuinely needs adjustment/reconstruction, and why Please do not apply if your normal workflow is to completely redesign existing artwork in your own style. This is a refinement and restoration project, not a new concept-development project. The complete Adobe Illustrator/source files exceed the platform’s initial attachment limit and will be supplied directly to shortlisted candidates for technical inspection before any final quotation is accepted. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Please review before bidding: - Fluent English: Freelancer must personally communicate in fluent English without relying on AI, translation tools, or another person. - No generative AI: Artwork must be created/refined using Adobe Illustrator and conventional design tools only. - Refinement, not redesign: Existing composition, symbolism, colours, and design foundation must be preserved. - Selective reconstruction: Rebuild individual elements only when technically or historically necessary, not the entire artwork. - Reference materials: Historical photographs and accurate reference images will be provided to support tracing, comparison, and restoration. - Nearly completed project: Most of the work is already done; remaining tasks are mainly corrections, refinements, and finishing touches. - Fixed budget: The A$100–150 budget reflects the limited remaining scope and is considered reasonable for the work required. - Heraldic artwork: The Grech Family Coat of Arms is commemorative and historically/militarily significant, requiring a prestigious, vivid, realistic, dimensional finish, especially for gold and silver elements. - Specialist preferred: The client wants a small shortlist of highly suitable specialists rather than many general graphic designers.
