About the project

I need a plastic snap-fit cap designed and engineered for a consumer-facing pill bottle. This project covers the full path from concept refinement through design for manufacturability so that we can move straight into tooling when the design is approved. Scope of work • Create a 3D CAD model of the cap and complementary neck finish that secures solid medication (pills, tablets) with a positive snap action suitable for repeated daily use by end-customers. • Optimise the geometry for injection-moulded plastic, specifying draft angles, shut-offs, gate locations and any living hinges or tamper-evident features that add value without increasing cycle time unnecessarily. • Run tolerance and stack-up studies to be sure the cap seals consistently when mass-produced. • Provide a DFM report highlighting recommended resin grades, projected mould cavitation, estimated part weight and moulding parameters. • Supply step-by-step manufacturing drawings plus an STL so I can 3-D print and test a functional prototype. Acceptance criteria The cap must: 1. Deliver a clean “click” engagement that the average consumer can open and close with one hand. 2. Maintain a moisture-resistant seal that passes a simple shake or upside-down leak test. 3. Be ready for direct hand-off to a mould maker with no major re-work required. If you have hands-on experience with snap-fits, pharmaceutical packaging standards, and injection-moulded plastics, I’m ready to get started right away.
