Animated 3D Chess Assets for Web Game
INR 600–700
About the project
3D GLB Asset Requirement – Khelo Mitra Live Chess We are looking for a 3D Artist / Blender Freelancer to create optimized GLB/GLTF assets for our Khelo Mitra Live Chess game. This is not a standard chess game. Our chess board will have real users represented by avatars sitting/riding on the chess pieces, so the models must be designed keeping avatar placement, animations and web performance in mind. Assets Required We need a complete 3D chess asset set including: * Chess Board * King * Queen * Bishop * Knight * Rook * Pawn Both sides should be visually distinguishable through materials/colors while maintaining the same premium design language. Important Character / Avatar Requirement Every chess piece should have a properly designed position/seat/slot for displaying a user’s avatar or profile image. For example: * King should prominently display the main player’s avatar. * Other pieces can display avatars of users who join that troop/piece. * Avatar/profile placement should remain clearly visible when the chess piece moves around the board. * The model should still look good if no real user has joined that chess piece. The avatar itself will be handled programmatically by our development team, so the artist mainly needs to provide a suitable anchor/placement area or named object/node inside the model. Animation Requirements The models should support smooth game animations. Where applicable, we would like animations such as: * Idle animation * Move / walk animation * Attack animation * Hit / damage reaction * Defeat / destruction animation * Victory / celebration animation * King special animation Animations should be embedded in the GLB wherever practical and should have clear animation clip names. Example: Idle Move Attack Hit Defeat Victory The developer should be able to trigger these animations independently from Three.js/Babylon.js or another WebGL engine. Art Style We are looking for: * Premium stylized 3D * Game-ready appearance * Slightly fantasy / futuristic feel * Attractive for Gen-Z users * Not excessively realistic * Strong silhouettes so each chess piece can be identified quickly * Suitable for a mobile-first multiplayer game Avoid extremely heavy cinematic models. Technical Requirements Final assets must be provided primarily in GLB format. Requirements: * Game-ready low/medium-poly models * Optimized topology * Optimized textures * Reasonable polygon count * Proper UV mapping * PBR materials * Correct pivot/origin * Correct scale across all chess pieces * Properly named meshes, bones and animation clips * No unnecessary hidden geometry * Minimal draw calls where possible * Mobile/WebGL optimized * No external texture dependency if textures can be embedded inside the GLB Models should work smoothly inside a web-based 3D multiplayer chess game. Avatar Anchor Each troop model should contain a clearly named anchor such as: AvatarAnchor or PlayerSlot This position will be accessed by the development team to dynamically attach the live user’s avatar/profile element to that chess piece. Deliverables We require: * Individual GLB files for every chess piece * Chess board GLB * White/Blue side material configuration * Black/Red/opponent side material configuration * Animated GLB versions * Original Blender .blend source files * Texture files/source files * Commercial usage rights * Documentation mentioning model scale, animation names and avatar anchor names Performance Since this game will run primarily on mobile devices, optimization is extremely important. Please avoid unnecessarily large: * Polygon counts * Texture sizes * Materials * Bones * Animation data The complete chess scene should be practical for loading over the web. Freelancer Skills Preferred We are looking for someone experienced with: * Blender * GLB / GLTF * Game-ready 3D modeling * Rigging * Character/object animation * PBR materials * Low-poly optimization * Three.js / Babylon.js compatible assets * Mobile/WebGL asset optimization Experience creating assets for multiplayer games, board games or mobile games will be preferred. Before Starting Please share: 1. Previous 3D game assets or GLB work. 2. Examples of animated GLB models. 3. Approximate polygon count you recommend per chess piece. 4. Whether you can provide rigged + animated models. 5. Confirmation that original .blend files and commercial usage rights will be included. We may first ask for one sample chess piece (preferably the King) before proceeding with the complete set.
