Three.js Island Game 3D Visual Enhancement
USD 3000–5000
About the project
Our three.js island game is fully playable – but it still looks bare. We’re looking for a 3D artist who turns it into a coherent, fantastic world players want to explore: lush, mystical vegetation winding through weathered ancient ruins – without ever touching the game mechanics or pushing hardware requirements beyond entry-level laptops. The island tells a story – visually Intact: a thriving, harmonious world Devastated: a storm has torn it apart – broken ruins, withered plants, faded colours Repaired: players bring it back to life – and it comes back better than before: glowing, shiny, magical What you’ll do Build the world with an asset pack (already existing), plus our existing low-poly meshes, colour palettes and asset library Place, tweak and recolour them into one consistent, living scene in all three states – this is the core of the job Make each state instantly readable, and the transformation from devastated to repaired a real “wow” moment (glow, emissive accents, shine) Occasionally create a small custom asset where the scene really needs it (the exception, not the rule) Keep it light: frame-rate must stay rock-solid on WebGL across desktop and mobile, so balance visual charm with draw calls, texture atlasing and smart instancing What you get from us The purchased Worlds Islands pack (100 low-poly islands) plus an organised asset library, ready to use (licensed to us: for this project only, no generative AI tools on the assets) Git access to the current scene and a clear performance baseline Fast, direct feedback Deliverables Updated scene / asset bundle for all three states (intact, devastated, repaired), ready to drop into three.js Existing asset library intact, new files in a clean folder structure A short report: optimisation steps taken and FPS results on a mid-range browser You’re a great fit if you’ve built real-time low-poly scenes for the web (three.js, Babylon.js, PlayCanvas …) you have a strong eye for composition and colour – and think in draw calls just as naturally you’re comfortable working with Git Timeline End of September 2026: kick-off and briefing 18 October 2026: first version of the island End of October 2026: final version, refined together in short iterations Until 15 November 2026: last small tweaks How to apply: Start your bid with the word “ruins”, link 1–2 real-time 3D scenes you built, tell us in 2–3 sentences how you’d approach this and send us your quote for the full scope above. Generic copy-paste bids won’t be considered.
