3D GIS Urban Simulation
USD 10–30
About the project
I need to translate my current 2D zoning and parcel layers into a georeferenced 3D environment so I can test future-build scenarios before we lock our new plan. The focus is squarely on urban planning and zoning, not traffic or environmental monitoring, and the modelling has to support simulation and analysis rather than just pretty visuals. Here’s what I will hand over: the base shapefiles/GeoPackage, LiDAR-derived DEM, and a spreadsheet that lists height, FAR and land-use controls for each parcel. What I expect back is an integrated 3D city scene that I can open in ArcGIS Pro (or an openly documented equivalent), complete with editable attributes so I can tweak zoning parameters and instantly rerun my analytics. If you prefer CityEngine, QGIS with Qgis2threejs, or even SketchUp for the geometry, that’s fine—just make sure the finished scene and all source files remain fully GIS-compatible. Deliverables • Layered 3D model of the study area with correct spatial reference • Attribute tables carrying my zoning controls and build-out variables • Step-by-step notes on how you built the scene so I can replicate or extend it Acceptance criteria 1. Model opens without errors in ArcGIS Pro Scene view. 2. Attribute edits (e.g., changing max height) propagate through the 3D geometry on refresh. 3. Coordinate accuracy within ±0.5 m of supplied DEM. If you have recent examples of similar simulation-ready city models, send a link or screenshot when you bid so I can gauge fit quickly.
