Fantasy Action Figure Toy Design

About the project

I am developing the first line of products for a new toy-manufacturing venture and need a seasoned toy or product designer to bring a children’s fantasy action figure (target age: 3-7 years) from concept to factory-ready files. The core idea centres on whimsical, mythical creatures—think friendly dragons, unicorn-knights, or other imaginative heroes that spark storytelling and role-play. Here’s the scope I have in mind: • Collaborate with me on character back-story, play patterns, safety considerations and size guidelines suited to younger children. • Produce initial concept sketches, turnarounds and colour call-outs that capture the magic of these mythical figures while remaining simple enough for small hands. • Develop detailed 3D models/CAD files ready for rapid prototyping, including articulation points and draft angles suitable for injection moulding. Native files in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent are ideal, along with clean, export-ready STP or STL. • Recommend child-safe materials, surface finishes, and basic bill of materials so I can source quotes from manufacturers. • Iterate quickly after physical prototype reviews to lock dimensions and tolerances. If you already have fantasy-themed designs we could license or customise, mention those as well; I’m open to accelerating development when the concept fits.
