Custom Lubrication System Design Needed

About the project

We are looking for an experienced **Lubrication Systems Design Engineer** to work with us on a contract/project basis designing automatic lubrication systems for construction, agricultural, mining and heavy machinery\. The ideal engineer will have practical experience designing **progressive lubrication systems and single-line lubrication systems**, preferably on mobile equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, tractors, harvesters, crushers and other heavy machinery. ## Key Responsibilities The engineer will be responsible for designing complete automatic grease lubrication systems from the machine through to the individual grease points. This will include: - Identify and map lubrication points on machinery - Determine required grease quantity and lubrication frequency for each point - Calculate total system grease requirements - Design **progressive lubrication systems** - Design **single-line lubrication systems** - Select and size pumps, reservoirs and motors - Select progressive dividers, metering devices and injectors - Determine the correct number of outlets and divider configuration - Calculate flow, pressure and cycle requirements - Design primary and secondary grease lines - Select appropriate hose, tube, fittings and connectors - Design pressure monitoring and system\-failure monitoring - Design electrical/control requirements where required - Develop complete lubrication circuit diagrams - Produce professional 2D CAD drawings - Produce 3D models and mounting brackets where required - Develop hose-routing and installation drawings - Prepare complete BOM/parts lists - Specify components and part numbers - Prepare installation and commissioning instructions - Review designs against actual machine photographs and manufacturer information - Troubleshoot and modify existing lubrication systems ## Machinery Experience Experience with the following types of equipment is highly desirable: - Excavators - Wheel loaders - Skid-steer loaders - Bulldozers - Graders - Cranes - Dump trucks - Mining equipment - Quarry equipment - Crushers and screens - Conveyors - Tractors - Harvesters - Balers - Hay and agricultural machinery - Cement and industrial equipment ## Lubrication System Experience The engineer should have demonstrated practical experience with: **Progressive systems** - Progressive dividers - Secondary progressive dividers - Injector sizing - Divider sequencing - Cycle monitoring - Blockage detection - Pressure calculations **Single-line systems** - Injectors/meters - Primary distribution - Pump selection - Pressure and reset requirements - Metering calculations - System monitoring Experience with equipment from manufacturers such as **Lincoln, SKF, Graco, Groeneveld\-BEKA, DropsA, Bijur Delimon or similar** would be highly desirable. ## Engineering & CAD Skills The engineer should be able to work from machine manuals, photographs, drawings and lubrication\-point information and develop a complete engineered system. Required: - Mechanical engineering experience - Automatic lubrication\-system design experience - AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software - Hydraulic/pneumatic/fluid\-system understanding - Technical drawing - BOM development - Engineering calculations - Ability to interpret machine drawings - Ability to produce professional customer\-ready documentation We are **not looking for a general CAD drafter** who can simply draw a system after someone else has designed it The engineer must be capable of making the **engineering decisions behind the lubrication system**, including: - Which lubrication system is appropriate - Pump selection - Divider/injector configuration - Outlet sizing - Grease quantity - Lubrication frequency - Pressure requirements - Line sizing - System monitoring - Correct component selection The successful engineer should be able to take a machine such as an excavator, understand its lubrication requirements and develop a **complete, practical automatic lubrication system suitable for installation in the field**\. ## Preferred Experience Experience working for, or with, companies such as: - Lincoln - SKF - Graco - Groeneveld\-BEKA - DropsA - Bijur Delimon - Other major automatic lubrication manufacturers would be highly regarded\. ## Contract Arrangement This is intended to be an **ongoing project based contract position** Initially, we would provide one machine as a trial project. If the design meets our requirements, there will be ongoing projects covering different construction, agricultural, mining and industrial machines. Please provide examples of previous **progressive and/or single-line automatic lubrication systems** you have designed, particularly for excavators, loaders, tractors, mining equipment or other mobile machinery. Please also provide: - Your location - Years of lubrication\-system experience - CAD software used - Examples of previous designs - Experience with Lincoln/SKF/Graco/BEKA/DropsA or similar systems - Hourly or project rate - Availability for ongoing contract work This is intended to be an **ongoing project\-based contract position** Initially, we would provide one machine as a trial project.
