About the project

I'm seeking a skilled / Senior Blender 3D Animator / 3D Generalist Needed for Children’s Animated Series – 3–10 Episodes + Long-Term Work We are looking for an experienced Senior 3D Animator / Blender 3D Generalist to help complete a professionally developed children’s animated franchise and bring multiple episodes to final production quality. The project is a colourful children's entertainment world combining magical slime, science, adventure, comedy, friendship and discovery. This is not a project starting from nothing. A substantial production system has already been developed, including the franchise bible, character/world references, episode scripts, story structure, shot planning, animatics, greybox/layout work, camera planning, production specifications, continuity rules and animation-production documentation. We are initially looking to produce approximately 3–10 episodes. If the working relationship, quality, communication and delivery are strong, there is the opportunity for ongoing/full-time work at a very good rate as production expands. The person we need should be capable of: Working professionally in Blender and taking scenes from approved production material through to polished final animation. 3D character animation with strong acting, posing, timing and children's-animation appeal. Working with or improving character models and production-ready rigs; modelling/rigging ability is a major advantage. Facial animation, expressions, eye direction, blinking and dialogue lip-sync/viseme animation. Secondary animation including body overlap, breathing, prop movement, slime deformation and follow-through. Environment assembly and replacement of temporary/greybox assets with approved production assets. Camera/layout work while respecting established shot plans and story staging. Materials and look-development, particularly glossy/slime/gel materials, crystals, colourful fantasy environments and stylised children's animation. Lighting scenes to a colourful, premium, cinematic but child-friendly standard. Creating VFX such as glow, slime effects, crystal energy, magical light effects and other stylised effects. Rendering efficiently and delivering clean final image sequences. Compositing and ideally being comfortable with final editing/colour work in DaVinci Resolve or equivalent. Working at 1920×1080, 16:9, 24fps for the main production master. Maintaining organised Blender/project files, version numbers, assets and render files so episodes can be revised later. Following an established franchise bible exactly rather than redesigning characters, changing story canon or inventing new visual elements without approval. Delivering all editable/source project files, not only the final MP4. The visual direction is a high-quality, colourful 3D children's franchise with expressive characters, friendly rounded shapes, luminous environments, jewel-like crystals, vibrant slime materials, strong readable emotions and a polished fantasy/science aesthetic. The animation should feel energetic and fun while remaining smooth, clear and suitable for a young/family audience. The project has a structured production pipeline covering layout, rigs, acting/blocking, dialogue and lip-sync, animation polish, lighting/materials/VFX, rendering, compositing, sound/edit and final QC. We want someone who is comfortable working within an organised studio-style workflow rather than treating each video as a standalone animation. For shorter digital episodes, we will also need the main 16:9 master to be designed so that safe 9:16 and 1:1 social crops can be created where required. This is part of the existing production plan. This could become a major long-term position. We would like to begin with a paid test/milestone and then move into the first 3–10 episodes. If the quality and relationship are right, there will be substantial continuing work and the possibility of joining the project on a full-time or near-full-time basis at a strong rate. When applying, please send examples of your best 3D character animation, especially children's/cartoon animation. Please also show examples of facial/lip-sync work, lighting/rendering, stylised environments and any complete episodes or scenes you have personally helped take from animation through final render. Please clearly tell us which parts of the production process you can personally handle: modelling, rigging, character animation, facial/lip-sync, lighting, materials, VFX, rendering, compositing and editing. We are particularly interested in someone who can become a long-term production partner, not somebody looking only to make one quick video. All work will need to be carried out under appropriate confidentiality/IP terms, and complete organised source files must be supplied as part of the production handoff. Please provide a portfolio showcasing relevant work. Looking forward to your bids!
