About the project

I have a pistol concept ready on paper and I’m looking for a skilled CAD specialist who can translate the entire design into a fully detailed 3D model and drawing set that a machine shop can prototype without further clarification. Every component is in scope—the barrel, trigger mechanism, grip, slide, internal springs, pins, and any other parts that make the firearm function safely and reliably. I need dimensional accuracy, clear tolerances, and files that can flow straight into CNC machining and 3-D printing workflows. You are free to work in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or a similarly capable parametric package, as long as neutral formats such as STEP and IGES are supplied alongside the native files. Material call-outs, GD&T where relevant, and an exploded assembly view will all be required. I’ll also want a quick-change version for rapid prototyping and a production-intent version reflecting final tolerances. Deliverables • Parametric 3D model of the full pistol • Complete 2D manufacturing drawings with measurements and tolerances • Exploded assembly view and simple BOM for prototyping • Neutral file exports (STEP/IGES) plus STL for additive testing Acceptance criteria: parts slot together in the CAD assembly without interference, tolerances are realistic for common CNC shops, and all components can be isolated for individual machining quotes. If you have experience with firearm mechanisms, proof it in your portfolio or a brief note on past projects, and let’s move this design toward the prototype bench.
