Redesign Foldable Spork Hinges STEP File
INR 1500–12500
About the project
I already have a complete 3D concept for a sealable, fold-up spork, but the hinges I modelled do not survive printing or regular use. I therefore need the hinge area re-worked, with the goal of changing the hinge type altogether rather than simply resizing or moving what is there. But if the change can be made such that they are durable and unbreakble we can work around on it. You will receive my current STEP file and pictures showing where the failure occurs. Your task is to redesign the hinge so the spork still folds neatly into its handle, seals when closed, and prints reliably on common FDM and SLA machines. I am open to any hinge style—snap-fit, pin, flexure, or another creative solution—as long as it meets those functional goals. Timing is critical; I would like a first iteration as soon as possible so I can run a quick test print, followed by tweaks if needed. Deliverables: • Updated, watertight STEP file with the new hinge geometry • A short note (screenshots or call-outs) explaining the hinge concept and recommended print orientation/settings I will test print immediately and confirm that the hinge moves freely without cracking; once it passes this check, the project is complete.
