Stitch Black Bezel Scans
CAD 10–30
About the project
I have already captured multiple passes of a flat, matte-black plastic bezel using three different approaches—photogrammetry on my S25, a Ferret Pro handheld scanner, and some early iPhone LiDAR shots. What I need from you is merge: align the individual front- and back-side meshes, remove the inevitable overlap noise, fill any micro-voids around the window cut-out, and hand back a watertight model that I can drop straight into my slicer. Dimensional accuracy is critical—±0.2 mm across the bezel lip—so please keep an eye on tolerances while you clean and stitch. You'll see small black pieces that stick up on the back. These are clips we had to cut to get it off. We want to remake the design with a barb we can pinch them to release them. I will try and get you more scans tomorrow from the ferret and possibly an iphone lidar scan. Deliverables • Single, manifold mesh (STL or OBJ) ready for 3D printing • Native working file from whichever tool you prefer (e.g., Blender, MeshLab, Metashape) • Quick note on what you did—alignment workflow, scale adjustment, and any corrective offsets—so I can reproduce changes if the bezel design updates later If you spot areas where a fresh scan will materially improve the end result, just let me know and I can rerun that side. Otherwise, take the existing data and work your magic.
