3D Shoe Configurator Development
USD 250–750
About the project
About us Karpos is a handmade leather shoe workshop. We're building an online configurator. Customers will choose the design, sole, leather type and colour for each part of the shoe and see the result live in 3D in the browser, similar to Carmina Shoemaker's online customiser. Scope 15 shoe and boot designs. Reference photos are provided for each. A modular sole library. Any sole can be fitted to any compatible upper. A leather material library. Colours will be applied by our configurator. Phases Phase 1 (paid pilot): 1 design + 3 sole types + 4 leather materials. Phase 2: the remaining 14 designs, the full sole library and the full material library. This phase goes ahead only if Phase 1 meets our quality bar. Structure 1. Uppers (15 designs) Each customisable part is its own named mesh, for example: vamp, quarters, toe cap, eyelet facing, tongue, back stay, lining, straps and buckles, elastic gore, laces, pull tab Each part has its own material, named to match the part. Stitching is a normal map or separate geometry, so its colour can be changed. 2. Sole library The sole parts are separate models, built to fit each last: Sole unit [leather, studded rubber (Dainite-style), commando lug, crepe, wedge] Heel [block, Cuban, stacked leather] Welt 3. Material library Make tileable PBR texture sets: normal, roughness and a neutral greyscale base colour. We need these leather types: smooth calf suede nubuck pebble / scotch grain croc embossed lizard embossed patent Notes: Colours are applied by the configurator on top of the leather type. Do not make separate textures for each colour. Exception: leathers whose look depends on colour variation (burnished or antiqued finishes) need their own colour texture. Use the same texel density on all models, so the leather grain looks the same size on every shoe. We'll provide photos of our real leather swatches as reference. Technical requirements .glb files for use on the web, plus source files (.blend or .fbx) Under 50,000 triangles per shoe, including the sole Under 5MB per .glb, with textures at 1024–2048 px Clean, non-overlapping UVs on every part Real-world scale, Y-up, with the origin at the bottom centre of the sole Left shoe only (we'll mirror it for the right) What we provide Photos of each design from 6 angles (side, top, front, back, 3/4), with a ruler in each shot Key measurements for one size (UK 9): shoe length and width, heel height, sole thickness, and shaft height for boots
