Traditional Wooden Playlet Design
USD 30–250
About the project
I’m putting together a backyard playlet and need a complete, builder-ready design package. The look should feel traditional—think classic timber framing and pitched roof accents—so all structural and decorative elements must stay true to that style. Wood is the only material I want specified, from posts and beams to decking and rails, and the plan should call out species and finishes that balance strength, weather-resistance, and kid-safe smoothness, roof all be metal. Core play features have to include two racing slides side by side that exits from the main platform, three swings on a sturdy A-frame that needs to be next to the platform but does not have to be attached, plus spots for imaginative, interactive play both beneath and on top of the deck (chalk panels, steering wheels, tic tac toe, sandbox, kitchen, or other creative add-ons are welcome). I’d also like the support layout to anticipate a future add-on: a swinging bridge that can connect to another structure later, so leave a clearly identified connection point with load specs. This will be for a toddler for now so needs to have an easy access why for her to access it such as stairs or a ramp. Please deliver: • Fully dimensioned 2D drawings and a simple 3D visual so I can show family and city inspectors exactly what’s being built • A precise cut list that matches the drawings, grouped by component and annotated with board sizes and counts • A material list noting hardware, fasteners, safety surfacing, sealants, and any specialty accessories • Step-by-step assembly instructions written for a competent DIYer, including recommended tool call-outs and safety tips Accuracy is key; every measurement must reconcile across the drawings, cut list, and instructions so the build goes together without field tweaks. Let me know if you need site photos or additional info on the bridge expansion concept, and I’ll send them right away.
