About the project
PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS PROJECT UNLESS YOU HAVE READ THIS IMPORTANT NOTICE: This project has been posted multiple times after being withdrawn on the same number of occasions because in each case, bidders have either not been qualified or, have provided misleading information about their ability to properly undertake the project and /or their qualifications or credentials. Only “Verified Identity Freelancers” should apply. ANY AND ALL BIDS MUST ALLOW FOR THE PROVISION OF RPEQ CERTIFICATION BY A REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER OF QUEENSLAND. PLEASE RESPECT THAT SUCH CERTIFICATION IS A PROJECT MANDATE. BIDDERS MUST PROVIDE, WITHIN THEIR INITIAL SUBMISSION, RPEQ REGISTRATION DETAILS INCLUDING THE NOMINATION OF THE RPEQ, THEIR REGISTERED NAME AND FIVE-DIGIT REGISTRATION NUMBER FOR VERIFICATION BY US WITH THE RPEQ DATABASE FOR CURRENCY. ANY BIDS NOT CONTAINING SUCH INFORMATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AND WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE DELETED. IF IN ANY DOUBT PLEASE DO NOT APPLY. DETAILS: We require a RPEQ certified Design for a very simple, rectangular, reinforced concrete swimming pool utilizing the RISE WALL - LAY-FLAT -Water Resistant Formwork System. All information and design manuals related to this formwork system are attached herewith. The design is for a reinforced concrete, above ground, free standing, rectangular swimming pool which MUST utilize the Rise Wall Lay-Flat Water-Resistant formwork system as the primary method of forming the pool. Preference will be given to an engineer who is experienced with both the Rise Wall Lay-Flat formwork system as well as basic swimming pool design utilizing steel reinforced concrete. The pool must be free standing, above-ground and totally self-supporting - founded only upon suitably compacted substrate (i.e. crusher dust) – placed upon the properly prepared natural ground that has been prepared down to a solid base. The finished pool shell must be WITHOUT the need to be tied to, or reliant upon, any other support, structure or foundation. It must be designed to withstand the usual static and dynamic loadings associated with swimming pools and should incorporate a proven reinforcing design - utilizing standard deformed steel reinforcing bars placed in a configuration that works by necessity with the Rise Wall Lay-Flat Water-Resistant formwork product. CERTIFICATION AND COMPLIANCES OF THE DESIGN: 1. The design must be prepared in accordance with the following Australian Standards: AS. 3600 - governing all concrete structures. AS 2783:2025 - Use of reinforced concrete for small swimming pools. 2. The design must be prepared by a qualified engineer experienced in reinforced concrete design and the use of the Rise Wall Lay-Flat formwork system. 3. The design must be certified by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and all associated drawings and documents must be certified accordingly. KEY SPECIFICATIONS: 1. The simple rectangular concrete pool will consist of a single structure composed of a floor slab with four integrated vertical perimeter walls all formed by way of a single, in-situ -monolithic pour carried out on site. The monolithic pour is essential to provide a homogenous, watertight, concrete vessel taking the form of an open-topped rectangular concrete box. 2. The vertical walls will be nominally 200 mm thickness (as determined by the Rise Wall Lay-Flat - Water Resistant formwork product). The floor slab thickness (also likely to be approximately 200 mm thick) will be determined by the REPQ. 3. It is intended that the entire pool shell be founded on a level bed of compacted crusher dust (or other suitable packing sand material) covered by a suitable polythene vapour barrier. 4. Internal pool dimensions are 8000 mm length x 3500 mm width with a constant wall height (above floor level) of 1500 mm. It is imperative that the following points are inclusions in the design: (a) That all internal corners of the shell are designed as sharp ninety-degree corners (not filleted, bevelled or radiused corners). (b) Focus should be placed heavily on NOT over designing the steel reinforcing but rather adhering to traditional and proven reinforcing sizes and methodology. (c) Pool shell substrate criteria to be determined by RPEQ based on Geotechnical Report for the site that will ONLY be provided to the bidder whose offer is successful. (d) No allowance should be made for any steps, ladders, seating, plumbing penetrations, pumping equipment, plumbing, valving and filtration equipment, sanitization equipment or any other pool equipment generally - all of which is provided by others. SCOPE OF WORK TO BE PROVIDED AND CERTIFIED BY RPEQ: (i) Full structural design, calculations and modeling for the monolithic Reinforced Concrete Swimming Pool Shell detailing all dimensions, elevations and sectional details and complete concrete specifications. All submissions should be in .pdf format - printable in A4 & A3 size and original Acad .dwg files are to be provided. (ii) Engineering design for steel reinforcing including a full layout and complete materials take off. Details should clearly show all critical aspects of reinforcing placement, fixing and concrete cover. (iii) A layout, set up details and procedures for placement, erecting and bracing the Rise Wall Lay-Flat Water-Resistant formwork as well as a complete formwork take off schedule and bill of quantities for ordering. The layout should note all necessary fixings, ties, required panel cuts as well as any additional materials required aside from the Rise Wall Lay-Flat Water-Resistant formwork. It is essential to clearly demonstrate how the Rise Wall panels integrate with the steel reinforcement cage and the order of steps and procedures needed to set up the formwork ready for pouring. (iv) Form 15 and Form 16 (or equivalent) signed and stamped by an RPEQ. FINAL NOTATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED BY BIDDERS: There is no definite timeframe for the project however bidders should offer their expected lead time for completion. Design Certification by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory. Awarding of project will be based upon quality of submission rather than cost alone.
