3D CAD Engineering & Sheet Metal Design for Functional Equipment Enclosure

About the project

Hi everyone, We at CadZero Engineering are looking for a professional 3D CAD designer and mechanical engineer to develop a complete engineering project for an external equipment enclosure. Project Scope: We need a fully functional, manufacturing-ready sheet metal housing for an industrial machine. The design must be optimized for sheet metal fabrication (laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, and assembly) and incorporate several specific mechanical and structural features. Please provide the technical documentation for these models. Specifically, we require: DWG files for laser metal cutting. DXF or IGS files for CNC metal bending (please specify the preferred format). PDF files containing detailed dimensions and required radii for bending. Key Requirements & Features: Material: Sheet metal. The design must account for material thickness, bend radii, and structural integrity. Sliding Doors: The enclosure must feature smooth, reliable, and space-saving sliding doors for main operational access. Air Filter Compartments: Integrated, easily accessible compartments specifically designed for housing and replacing air filters without disassembling the main frame. Maintenance Access: Strategically placed access panels, doors, or removable sections to allow technicians full and easy access for machine repair and routine maintenance. Complete Engineering Project: This is not just a visual 3D concept. We need a fully functional, mechanically sound design ready for real-world manufacturing (Design for Manufacturing - DFM). Deliverables: Source 3D CAD files (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) and standard exchange formats (STEP/IGES). Detailed 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings (PDF) with all necessary tolerances and welding symbols. Flat patterns (DXF) ready for laser cutting and bending. A basic Bill of Materials (BOM) for standard hardware (sliding rails, handles, hinges, fasteners). Ideal Candidate: Strong background in mechanical engineering and industrial product design. Proven experience in sheet metal design and DFM. Previous experience designing machine guards, heavy equipment enclosures, or industrial cabinets.
