PLA Prototype 3D Printing Plans
USD 250–750
About the project
The following is from the AI assistant in Freelancer. I have a project and have a partially designed device from another engineer who is too busy to finish the job. I want to determine relative interest in cost in the design process with exisint plans. Specifically I am looking for an add-on trigger device to my exiting plans. The project is using a primer as it's source of propellant. Please reach out if you think you would be interested and have any experience with a firing pin to a primer. Thanks I’m advancing a larger project and now need a printable prototype to verify form and fit before I commit to final production. The model has to be engineered specifically for FDM printing in PLA and should balance print efficiency with enough surface resolution to capture moderate-level details (no ultra-fine ornamentation required, but clean curves, snap-fits or functional interfaces must come through clearly). Here’s what I’d like delivered: • A watertight 3D model file (STL or STEP preferred) designed with correct wall thicknesses, tolerances and minimal supports for PLA. • Basic orientation and slicing notes—layer height, infill, recommended nozzle size—so I can replicate your results on a standard desktop printer. • One round of minor adjustments after an initial test print, if needed. Acceptance criteria • The file opens error-free in Cura/PrusaSlicer. • Critical dimensions are within ±0.2 mm of the provided reference points. • Surfaces show no non-manifold edges when checked in Netfabb or Meshmixer. I’ll share sketches and key measurements once we start. If you’re comfortable designing functional PLA prototypes that print cleanly without excessive post-processing, your expertise will help move this project forward smoothly.
