About the project
I need a detailed 3-D CAD model of a naval vessel that captures the hull form and propulsion layout accurately enough to feed into hydrodynamic analysis software. Once the geometry is approved, I also want a full suite of seakeeping and maneuvering studies: • Seakeeping: stability analysis, wave-resistance predictions, and motion-response curves in regular and irregular seas. • Maneuvering: turning circle, zig-zag, and stopping analyses so I can benchmark agility against current NATO criteria. The workflow I have in mind is straightforward. First, produce the parametric hull and propulsion geometry in a neutral file format (IGES or STEP) along with native files from Rhino, SolidWorks, or a comparable naval-architecture tool. When the geometry passes my visual and hydrostatic checks, run CFD or potential-flow calculations in software such as MAXSURF, ANSYS Aqwa, OpenFOAM, or your own validated in-house code. Present the results in a concise report that includes plots, tabulated data, and a short interpretation of what the numbers mean for real-world performance. Acceptance criteria 1. CAD files are watertight, fair, and import directly into my CFD package without repair. 2. Hydrostatic particulars (displacement, LCB, KM, etc.) match the target values I will provide to within ±2 %. 3. Seakeeping outputs list RAOs, added resistance, and GM variation over the stated sea spectrum with clear graphs. 4. Maneuvering study includes time histories and trajectory plots for each test case, plus a summary table of key indices (advance, tactical diameter, overshoot angles).
