Consumer Electronics Concept Designer

About the project

I’m developing a brand-new consumer electronic device and need an industrial design engineer to take the idea from rough sketches to a fully-fleshed concept. The unit must integrate wireless connectivity, a responsive touchscreen interface, and hands-free voice control, so every design decision has to accommodate antennas, display stack-ups, microphones, and speakers from the outset. At this stage I’m focused on overall form, user experience, and early proof-of-feasibility rather than detailed engineering for tooling. I’ll share the core use-cases, target dimensions, and benchmark products; you’ll translate these into a forward-thinking exterior, intuitive control layout, and an internal architecture that shows component placement is realistic. Expect frequent feedback cycles as we lock down ergonomics, CMF choices, and preliminary thermal/EMI considerations. Deliverables • 2–3 refined concept directions presented as high-quality renders with brief rationale • One selected concept developed into a 3D CAD assembly (SolidWorks or Fusion 360 preferred) with exploded view illustrating PCB, battery, display, and speaker locations • Basic BOM and material notes indicating plastics, coatings, and fastening strategy • A short feasibility memo flagging any major mechanical or manufacturing risks Acceptance criteria: the chosen concept must visually communicate the three core functions, show at least 40 % internal volume utilisation for electronics, and maintain a touchscreen viewing angle of 70°–90° when placed on a flat surface.
