Plastic Teardrop Shell CAD Design
AUD 10–100
About the project
Looking for someone to create a simple 3D model of a vintage magazine clutch purse for 3D printing Hi everyone, I'm looking for someone to model the rigid plastic shell of an old novelty clutch handbag that was made to look like a folded magazine. This is a personal gift project, so I'm hoping it's a fairly simple and inexpensive modelling job. I've attached photos of the original. What I need I only need the hard plastic structure, mechanism. The model would consist of: Two matching rigid outer shell halves. Each half is essentially a long teardrop/oval shaped cylinder split lengthwise. The two halves close together like a clamshell. recessed end caps on both ends. like in the above pictures long interior hinge across the bottom split across both halves that I can just put a slim long metal pin/wire through Hollow inside suitable for adding a fabric liner afterwards. Wall thickness suitable for FDM printing (around 2 to 3 mm unless you recommend otherwise). Just the rigid shell halves with recessed caps and simple opening mechanism. Each shell half has a full recessed teardrop-shaped end cap. The end cap is surrounded by a raised border around the outside perimeter only, while the edge facing the opposite half remains open and flush. When the two halves close, they form the complete teardrop-shaped end exactly like the original. Dimensions It's roughly the size of a folded fashion magazine (similar to a folded Cosmopolitan), so approximately: Height: 280-300 mm Width: 140-150 mm Thickness when closed: around 60-70 mm Deliverables Looking for: STEP file preferred Parametric CAD file if possible (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, FreeCAD, etc.) Budget Because it's essentially a fairly simple geometric shell rather than an engineering project, I'm hoping to keep this reasonably affordable. If you've made similar printable models before, please send me a quote and examples of your work. Thanks!
