Mechanical Design Engineer – SolidWorks 2019 – Modular Outdoor Cooking System (CAD Design Only) Project Overview We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer or Product Design Company to develop a complete 3D CAD model of a premium modular outdoor cooking system. This project is for engineering design only. Manufacturing, prototyping and certification are NOT part of this request. The objective is to create a fully engineered product that is optimized for future serial production using laser cutting, CNC bending and welded sheet metal construction. The final project shall be fully compatible with SolidWorks 2019. About the Project The product is a premium modular outdoor cooking system based on one common firebox. Different cooking modules can be mounted onto the same base unit. The design should combine functionality, durability and manufacturability while maintaining a premium appearance. The attached concept sketches illustrate the intended design direction. The selected designer is expected to improve the engineering wherever necessary while maintaining the overall concept. ⸻ Main Modules The project includes the complete CAD development of: * Main Firebox * Pizza / Bread Oven * Gas Grill Module * Electric Heating Module * Plancha Module * BBQ Grill Module * Smoker Module * Optional Rotisserie Module ⸻ Base Firebox Dimensions 600 × 600 × 500 mm Material S355 Steel Standard Sheet Thickness 5 mm ⸻ Construction Philosophy The complete design shall be optimized for manufacturing. Preferred manufacturing methods: * Fiber Laser Cutting * CNC Press Brake Bending * MAG Welding The construction shall minimize machining wherever possible. ⸻ Design Requirements The construction shall include: * Modular interchangeable design * Replaceable wear parts * Replaceable heat shields * Replaceable insulation * Easy maintenance * High stiffness * Industrial appearance * Professional engineering standards ⸻ Sheet Metal Design All outer panels shall be laser cut and bent. Large panels should use cross-bend stiffeners (X-bends) instead of pressed beads. The housing shall use tab-and-slot self-aligning construction similar to the attached reference. The purpose is: * easier welding * automatic positioning * repeatable assembly * reduced fixture requirements ⸻ Firebox The firebox shall include: * Fire chamber * Removable fire basket * Ash drawer * Primary air * Secondary air * Rear centered exhaust * Replaceable wear plates * Replaceable flame deflectors The fire basket shall run on welded L-angle rails. No telescopic drawer slides. ⸻ Pizza Oven The pizza oven shall include: * Refractory brick lining * High temperature insulation * Optimized smoke routing * Strong top heat * Steel door * Replaceable internal components * Rear centered exhaust ⸻ Gas Module The gas module shall integrate commercially available elongated burner tubes similar to the attached reference image. The CAD model shall include: * Burner supports * Flame distributor plates * Grease tray * Control panel * Mounting interface Gas certification is NOT required. ⸻ Smoker Module Approximately 1500 mm height Material thickness approximately 2 mm Maximum operating temperature 150°C Including: * Insulated walls * Hanging rails * Adjustable shelves * Smoke distribution plates * Air control * Grease collection * Rear centered exhaust ⸻ Modular Connection The preferred interface is based on Siegmund System 16 using Quick Lock Bolt Article Number 2-160510 The CAD design shall include * locating bushings * alignment system * ceramic rope seal * replaceable sealing groove ⸻ Deliverables The selected designer shall deliver: Native CAD * SolidWorks 2019 Parts * SolidWorks 2019 Assemblies * SolidWorks 2019 Drawings ⸻ Additional Formats * STEP AP214 * DXF Flat Patterns * PDF Drawings ⸻ Drawings Manufacturing drawings for every part including: * Dimensions * Tolerances * Materials * Bend information * Welding notes * Revision table ⸻ Assemblies Complete assembly models ⸻ Exploded Views Complete exploded assembly drawings ⸻ Bill of Materials Complete BOM including: * Steel components * Purchased parts * Fasteners * Bolts * Nuts * Washers * Bushings * Handles * Hinges * Ceramic rope * Insulation * Refractory bricks * Burner assemblies ⸻ Assembly Manual PDF Including: * Exploded views * Assembly sequence * Hardware locations ⸻ Designer Requirements Please apply only if you have experience with: * SolidWorks 2019 * Sheet Metal Design * Weldment Design * Product Development * Design for Manufacturing (DFM) * Laser Cutting * CNC Bending Please include examples of similar projects. ⸻ Project Milestones Milestone 1 * Overall system concept * Firebox * Modular interface * General assembly Milestone 2 * Remaining modules * Detail drawings * BOM * Exploded views * Final documentation
