Detailed Machine Prototype Engineering
hr USD 50
About the project
I have a machine prototype that is already in the detailed-design phase, but I need an experienced mechanical engineer to push it across the finish line. Before anything else, I’d like to review samples of past work that show how you handle similar projects—especially complex mechanisms taken from CAD through to fabrication-ready documentation and validated by simulation. Once I’m confident we’re a good fit, the assignment breaks down into three concrete deliverables: • 3D modeling – refine or rebuild the current CAD so every component fits, moves, and assembles exactly as intended (preferred platforms are SolidWorks or Fusion 360, but I’m open if you use equivalent professional software). • Technical drawings – create fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings with tolerances, materials, surface finishes, and an exploded-view assembly guide. • Simulation and analysis – run FEA or motion studies to verify structural integrity, kinematics, and safety factors, then recommend any design tweaks the results suggest. I will supply the existing CAD files, design notes, and performance targets. In return, I expect native CAD files, PDF drawing packets, and a concise simulation report that highlights assumptions, boundary conditions, and final safety margins. If your portfolio demonstrates strong work on machine prototypes at a similar stage, let’s get started.
