Sustainable Glulam Industrial Structure Design
EUR 250–750
About the project
I’m planning a new industrial-scale building that will rely on glulam as the primary structural element. The brief is to turn my initial concept into a complete, build-ready package that demonstrates how the structure meets current codes while showcasing glulam’s low-carbon advantages. I need the struture calculation and IFC file Scope of work • Translate my layout sketches into a full structural scheme in glulam, including column, beam and roof systems. • Provide engineering calculations that verify loads, connections and deflection criteria. • Deliver detailed shop drawings (2D plans, sections, connection details) plus a lightweight 3D model for coordination. • Produce a concise sustainability summary highlighting the embodied-carbon savings of the proposed solution and any FSC/PEFC timber sourcing you intend to specify. Acceptance criteria 1. Drawings and calcs align with the local industrial building code (Eurocode or AISC-NDS; confirm during kickoff). 2. All connection details are dimensioned and ready for fabricator review. 3. Sustainability memo clearly quantifies carbon footprint and references sourcing certifications. 4. Final files supplied in PDF and native CAD/BIM format. And in IFC file Key points to keep in mind • Environmental sustainability is the top priority, so connection hardware and finishes should be chosen with that lens. • I’d like weekly progress touchpoints; the entire design package must be wrapped up within a month so I can move straight to permitting and procurement. If you have solid experience designing large-span glulam structures and can work quickly without compromising green goals, let’s discuss your approach and timeframe right away.
