**Title: Mechanical/Product Designer Needed for Rugged Electronic Device Enclosure** We are looking for an experienced **Mechanical / Product Design Engineer** to design a professional, rugged enclosure for an electronic/IoT device. This is not just a basic 3D modelling job. We need someone who has practical experience designing **manufacturing-ready electronic enclosures** and understands PCB integration, batteries, antennas, connectors, tolerances, assembly, and environmental protection. ### Scope of Work The enclosure will contain components such as: * Custom PCB * Battery * Cellular/LTE module * GNSS/GPS antenna * Sensors * LEDs / indicators * Push button(s) * USB Type-C or other external connector * Internal wiring and related components The selected designer will receive the PCB dimensions/files, component dimensions, connector positions, antenna requirements, and other mechanical information. ### Design Requirements The enclosure should be: * Strong and rugged * Compact * Professional looking * Suitable for industrial/field use * Easy to assemble and service * Designed with proper PCB mounting/standoffs * Designed with proper battery retention * Designed considering antenna performance * Designed with proper connector/button/LED openings * Resistant to accidental opening * Designed with appropriate wall thickness, ribs, fillets, tolerances, etc. * Designed considering heat dissipation where required * Designed to minimize water/dust entry * Preferably capable of achieving an IP-rated design such as IP65/IP67 if technically feasible ### Manufacturing The initial prototypes may be manufactured using **3D printing/CNC**, but the design should preferably consider future mass-production methods such as **injection molding**. The designer should therefore understand: * Draft angles * Parting lines * Undercuts * Screw bosses * Snap fits * Ribs * Wall thickness * Gaskets/seals * Inserts * Manufacturing tolerances * DFM/DFA ### Expected Deliverables We require: 1. Initial enclosure concepts 2. Internal component layout 3. 3D enclosure design 4. Top/bottom or multi-part enclosure design 5. Complete assembly model 6. STEP/STP files 7. Native editable CAD files 8. STL files for prototyping 9. 2D manufacturing drawings with dimensions and tolerances 10. Exploded assembly view 11. BOM for enclosure-related hardware such as screws, inserts, gasket, etc. 12. Final DFM review before manufacturing ### Preferred Designer Please apply only if you have experience with **real electronic products**, preferably: * IoT devices * GPS/GNSS trackers * Industrial electronics * Outdoor electronics * Automotive electronics * Rugged electronic products * Battery-powered devices Experience with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, Siemens NX, CATIA, or similar professional CAD software is preferred. ### IMPORTANT – Include With Your Bid Please send: * Examples of electronic enclosures you have previously designed * Photos/renders of manufactured products, if available * CAD software you use * Your experience with injection-molded enclosure design * Your experience with IP65/IP67 sealing * Your proposed design process * Estimated timeline **Please do not apply if your experience is limited to basic 3D modelling/rendering.** We are looking for someone who can take responsibility for the complete mechanical design and provide a **practical, manufacturable, production-ready enclosure**, not just an attractive 3D model.
