About the project
MISSION TITLE PCB design / layout for a DIY solar tracker (ESP32 mainboard) PROJECT DESCRIPTION I'm developing a solar tracker (2-axis, azimuth + tilt) controlled by an ESP32, with a touch TFT screen, SD card, RTC, angle sensors, control of 2 DC motors (azimuth/tilt), management of 48V/24V power rails, and various sensors (wind, LDR, battery voltage, temperature, gyroscope). The firmware is already developed and functional (Arduino/ESP32 code). A KiCad library of the modules used has already been prepared (schematics + footprints + 3D renders per module). The full GPIO/I2C mapping is documented and ready to share. I'm looking for a freelancer to design the complete electronic schematic and route the PCB (main board, built around the ESP32), based on the material already provided. WHAT IS ALREADY PROVIDED - KiCad library of the modules (schematic + footprint + 3D per block) - Full GPIO / SPI bus / I2C bus mapping (2 separate I2C buses, addresses documented) - Design rules to follow (placement of heat-emitting modules, default 2.54mm pin-header connections, 2.54mm screw terminals if needed, silkscreen mirroring if a module is flipped) - Already validated list of peripherals and functions TECHNICAL OVERVIEW (summary, full detail provided to the selected freelancer) - MCU: ESP32 (DevKit) - Shared SPI bus: TFT screen + SD card (dedicated CS lines) - Capacitive touch TFT screen (ST7796S controller + FT6336U touch) - 2 separate I2C buses (Wire / Wire1) carrying: DS1307 RTC + EEPROM, dedicated settings EEPROM, MCP23017 (48V/24V rail relays), PCA9685 (motor PWM + backlight + enclosure fan/heater), 2x AS5600 angle sensor (azimuth/tilt), 3x ADS1115 analog-to-digital converter (4x LDR, battery voltage, anemometer, analog fallbacks), MPU6050 gyroscope, PN532 NFC module - 2 DC motors driven via BTS7960 drivers (enable signals on native GPIOs) - 48V and 24V power rail management (relay switching) - DS18B20 temperature probe (OneWire) - Rotary encoder (menu navigation) EXPECTED SCOPE OF WORK - Review/validation of the electronic schematic based on the provided modules - Full PCB layout (mainboard) - Delivery as complete blocks (schematic + footprint + 3D) as already done for the existing library - Manufacturing files (Gerber, BOM, drill file) - Complete KiCad project delivered
