About the project

Nightclub Interior Designer / CAD Designer – 2D Plans, 3D Renders & Fit-Out Package We are seeking an experienced interior designer, CAD designer or architectural visualiser to assist with the design development and documentation a premium nightclub and entertainment venue currently undergoing refurbishment in Northern Territory, Australia. Major demolition has now been completed and our project manager has engaged a building certifier and mechanical engineer to assess ventilation, compliance and building requirements. We have an existing venue, floor plan, photographs/videos, established layout, strong design direction, colour palette and numerous concepts already selected. We now need a designer to translate our vision into a professional 2D/3D design and finishes package that can be provided to our project manager, builder and trades for quoting, procurement and fit-out. DESIGN DIRECTION The venue is intended to feel luxurious, sophisticated, sexy and theatrical, combining premium nightlife with subtle cabaret/burlesque influences. The palette/design direction includes: * Predominantly black foundation * Deep red / oxblood accents * Champagne brass / soft gold finishes * Warm white lighting * Velvet and luxury Vinyl/PU leather upholstery * Mirrors and reflective elements * Dark flooring with subtle gold detailing * Atmospheric feature lighting * Premium underground nightclub feel We want high-end and dramatic without looking cheap, overly themed or like a stereotypical nightclub/strip club. The designer should also be mindful of budget and use lighting, mirrors, upholstery, colour and strategic feature finishes to achieve maximum impact without unnecessary structural expense. EXISTING VENUE This is an existing commercial building, not a new build. The successful designer will receive available: * Existing plans/dimensions * Photographs and videos * Current construction photos * Inspiration/reference images * Brand/logo information * Colour and material direction * Existing design concepts * Project manager requirements Certain structural elements and locations cannot be moved, so designs must work within the existing building. AREAS TO DESIGN Main Nightclub Develop the overall appearance and layout including: * Flooring * Walls and ceilings * Seating/banquettes * Tables * Mirrors * Lighting * Feature elements * Customer circulation * Relationship between bar, stage and seating Feature Stage / Entertainment Area The entertainment area will be a major visual focal point and incorporates a large Stiletto/shoe-inspired feature and performance stage. The venue will accommodate theatrical entertainment including burlesque/cabaret-style performances and interchangeable performance props. We require design development for: * Stage dimensions/proportions * Stage finish * Stiletto feature * Performance area * Access and sightlines * Feature/LED lighting * Mirror positioning * Integration with surrounding seating Structural requirements will be reviewed separately by our builder/engineer. Bar The bar location is largely predetermined. We require design development for: * Bar frontage and top * Back bar * Shelving/display * Mirrors * Lighting * Joinery appearance * Metallic detailing * Equipment/POS positioning where applicable The bar must be visually impressive while remaining practical for commercial operation. Seating Develop a practical seating layout using combinations of: * Fixed banquettes * Booths/curved seating where appropriate * Loose seating * Cocktail tables * Commercial upholstery * Velvet/deep red accents * Black upholstery * Champagne brass/gold detailing Capacity, customer circulation and stage visibility are important. VIP Mezzanine The existing mezzanine will become a premium VIP area incorporating: * Commercial carpet * Luxury seating * Tables * Upholstery * Lighting * Wall treatments * Mirrors * Railing/stair treatment * Privacy and premium detailing Bathrooms Develop a sophisticated but durable and cost-conscious bathroom concept including: * Basins/vanities * Toilets * Tapware * Mirrors * Lighting * Flooring/wall finishes * Accessories and hardware Flooring & Ceilings Main flooring is intended to be predominantly black with subtle gold detailing. It must be appropriate for heavy commercial nightclub use, spills, frequent cleaning, high heels/stilettos and tropical/humid environment. VIP/mezzanine will likely incorporate commercial carpet. Ceiling concepts must integrate appropriately with ventilation, air-conditioning, fire/compliance systems and existing building limitations. Lighting Lighting is extremely important. The venue should feel warm, flattering, intimate and luxurious, incorporating appropriate: * Ambient lighting * Feature lighting * Bar lighting * Stage/performance lighting * LED strips * Wall/mirror lighting * Stair lighting * VIP lighting Technical electrical/compliance documentation will be handled by appropriate contractors. We require the designer to communicate the location and visual intent. REQUIRED DELIVERABLES We ideally require: 1. 2D Proposed Floor Plan Showing stage, bar, seating, tables, VIP, bathrooms, circulation and major fixtures with relevant dimensions. 2. Furniture/Seating Plan Showing fixed seating, banquettes, booths, tables and loose furniture. 3. Lighting/Ceiling Concept Plan Showing intended locations of decorative and feature lighting. 4. Key Interior Elevations Including relevant elevations for bar, stage, feature walls, seating, bathrooms and VIP areas. 5. High-Quality 3D Renders Realistic visualisations of the finished venue, including multiple views of the main nightclub, stage, bar, seating, VIP/mezzanine and bathrooms. 6. Materials & Finishes Schedule Including flooring, carpet, walls, paint, upholstery, metallic finishes, mirrors, bar/stage finishes, ceilings, bathrooms and joinery. Product/reference images, colour references and specifications should be included where possible. 7. FF&E / Fixture Schedule Identifying proposed furniture, lighting, bathroom fixtures, mirrors, tables, seating, hardware and decorative elements where applicable. Australian-available products or finishes that can be substituted locally are preferred. 8. Final Design Package A consolidated PDF package suitable for our project manager/builder/trades, plus editable/source design files. Documentation should clearly distinguish design intent/visual concepts from technical or certified construction documentation. IMPORTANT Our project manager is already coordinating the building certifier, mechanical engineer and trades. The designer is not expected to provide Australian structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire or building certification unless appropriately qualified. Your role is to develop and clearly document the interior design so the relevant professionals can translate it into compliant construction requirements. Designs must consider: * Commercial durability * Cleaning/maintenance * Tropical humidity * Customer circulation * High-heel/stiletto use * Existing structural limitations * Practical construction * Budget * Hospitality operations IDEAL FREELANCER Preference will be given to applicants with experience designing: * Nightclubs * Bars * Restaurants * Hotels * Hospitality venues * Entertainment/cabaret venues * Luxury commercial interiors Strong AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Enscape, Lumion, V-Ray or equivalent experience is desirable. We particularly want someone capable of producing both beautiful 3D visualisations AND practical 2D design documentation. WHEN APPLYING Please provide: 1. PROJECT GOAL We want someone who can bridge the gap between our creative vision and what our project manager and construction team need to build it. The final result should be a cohesive, luxurious and practical Club Stiletto design package that enables the project team to confidently proceed with quoting, procurement and fit-out. .
