About the project
I need a practical, waterproof phone holder that will keep a medium-sized smartphone (roughly 5–6 inches) fully protected during heavy rain. The goal is to allow the user to operate the screen, see notifications clearly, and keep every port, button, and speaker safe from water ingress without adding excess bulk. Deliverables • Concept sketches that show overall shape, mounting/attachment method, and sealing approach • Production-ready 3D CAD files (STEP or STL) for the main shell, transparent window, seals, and any locking parts • A brief bill of materials highlighting suitable water-resistant plastics, gasket materials, and finishing methods • Assembly instructions or an exploded view so a manufacturer can prototype the unit quickly Acceptance Criteria • Must pass an IPX4 rain simulation (steady spray from all directions) for at least 10 minutes with no moisture inside • Accommodates phones measuring 70–80 mm wide and up to 160 mm tall • Allows full touchscreen usability through a clear front panel • All buttons remain operable or externally duplicated If you have experience with waterproof enclosures, gasket design, or outdoor accessory engineering, I’d love to see examples of similar work when you submit your bid.
