About the project
## **Project Title: STL to STEP Solid Model Conversion & Reverse Engineering for Surgical Drill Device** **Project Overview:** I am looking for an experienced CAD designer or reverse-engineering specialist to convert an existing STL file of a specialised medical drill device (intended for osteotomy and surgical applications) into a clean, fully parametric STEP file. Because this is a surgical instrument, high dimensional accuracy and clean surface topology are critical for manufacturing and future modifications. **Materials Provided:** * **STL File:** The primary 3D mesh of the drill device. * **CAD Drawing:** 2D references detailing critical dimensions, tolerances, and specific geometries (such as active threads or micro-irrigation channels). * **Supporting STEP File:** Provided for spatial reference, assembly context, or supplementary geometry. **Scope of Work:** 1. **Mesh to Solid Conversion:** Reverse engineer the provided STL mesh into a watertight, solid NURBS model (not just an auto-converted faceted surface). 2. **Dimensional Verification:** Ensure all critical dimensions align perfectly with the provided 2D CAD drawing, particularly the cutting flutes, thread pitch, and shank connections. 3. **Clean Topology:** Deliver a model with clean geometry suitable for high-precision CNC machining or medical-grade 3D resin printing. 4. **Assembly Check:** Ensure the newly created solid model aligns and functions correctly with the supplementary STEP file provided. **Deliverables:** * A clean, error-free ``STEP`` file. * The native CAD file from the software used (e.g., `.SLDPRT`, `.f3d`). * A brief confirmation that all dimensions match the provided 2D drawing.
