About the project

I’m developing a new food-processing machine and need an experienced mechanical product designer who can take it from concept sketches to a complete, production-ready CAD package. The core of the assignment is full mechanical design: modelling all components and assemblies, laying out the drive system, and making sure the entire line meets food-industry hygiene and safety requirements. You’ll translate my functional notes into detailed 3D geometry, refine the mechanism for manufacturability, and generate the fabrication drawings we can hand straight to the shop. I work in SolidWorks myself, so native files in that format would be ideal, but I’m open to Inventor or STEP if that suits your workflow better. Good practice in tolerancing, material selection and sealed-shaft design for wash-down conditions is a must; I also appreciate basic FEA to confirm the frame and load-bearing elements won’t vibrate or deflect under production speeds. Deliverables: • Parametric 3D model of the entire machine • Exploded and assembly drawings with accurate BOM • DXF/laser-cut flat patterns and any machined part drawings • Brief design report summarising key calculations and sanitation considerations I’ll share the initial concept layout, target throughput and footprint once we start. If you’ve designed slicers, mixers, conveyors or similar stainless-steel equipment before, I’d love to see a few screenshots or photos of those builds along with your bid.
